I’m really looking forward to getting back on Aqua Bleu. He was obviously a very good horse last season and was impressive in those three-year-old races. You never quite know what you’re beating in those contests, so it’ll be interesting to see how he gets on in this company.
I imagine Risky Obsession will be the one to beat, but Aqua Bleu has always been a horse I've liked. I thought a lot of him when I won on him last year, and he was probably over the top by the time he came to Aintree towards the end of last season. With a bit more freshness about him, I am sure he can show us what he's capable of.
Off The Jury has been good and has improved plenty since switching to fences. He's obviously had a break since his last run, and the good ground will be important for him as he should enjoy those conditions.
I'm not entirely sure how far he can go over fences, but he's definitely improved for the experience of jumping them and hopefully there's still a bit more to come. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on.
All In You was probably a little unlucky on his last start over hurdles at Ayr in the Coral Scottish Champion Hurdle. He was travelling well and looked set to run a massive race before Tutti Quanti came down in front of him. I think he could have been an early winner that day had things gone differently.
He hasn't been winning on the Flat through the summer, but he's been running off high marks and has put in three respectable performances. He's been holding his form well, and hopefully he can bring that back to the jumps and run a nice race here.
Dartmoor Pirate looked an improving horse earlier in the season, and it's possible he just had a hard campaign towards the back end.
He won a nice race at Doncaster and then looked as though he was going to finish second there next time before falling at the last. He was an impressive winner that day and had looked like he was progressing nicely before his form tailed off a little.
He's at the bottom of the weights, which is obviously a positive, and if he can get back to the form he was showing earlier in the season, he could run a big race.
Mia Sunshine was an impressive winner at Sedgefield last time, and she certainly surprised a few people with just how much she improved from her first run to her second.
We're not entirely sure whether she's well handicapped or badly handicapped off a mark of 111, to be honest, and this is obviously going to be a big step up from a novice hurdle around Sedgefield.
The good ground should suit her, and she's had a nice break since her last run, so hopefully she's fresh and ready to go again. It'll be a tougher test, but I'm hoping she can put in another respectable performance.
