Coral are back with the final World Cup Special, and it seems a dead cert in every way
We are offering 1/1, even money, for Brazil to win every group game at the World Cup.
Standing in their way for the first match, and opener for the World Cup is Croatia who are without star striker Mario Mandzukic, so no problem there. With Thiago Silva and David Luiz primed to keep expected Brazilian-born replacement Eduardo da Silva, and Ivica Olic quiet, Croatian will have a task on their hands containing the likes of Neymar, Oscar and Hulk. Brazil are one from one against Croatia at the finals, and they look certain to extend that at the World Cup. The last time the hosts won all of their group games was in 2006, when none other than Croatia featured. Kaka scored that day as Brazil claimed a 1-0 win.
Their second opposition, Mexico may offer more resistance, though Brazil have more than enough fire-power to overcome the Aztecs, whose only genuine threat is Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez. Brazil have played El Tri three times at the World Cup, and have a 100 per cent record. The last occasion was in 1962, as the Samba boys won 2-0.
In order to secure all nine points, they must overcome Cameroon in the final match. At the World Cup in 1994, when the USA played hosts, Brazil beat them comfortably in a 3-0 victory. Goals from Romario, Bebeto, and Marcio Santos helped them top their group, as the indomitable Lions were dominated, finishing rooted to the bottom.
Brazil were ruthless in Germany at the early stages. They followed up a 1-0 victory against Croatia with a 2-0 win against Australia as Adriano and Fred struck. The latter is selected in Luiz Felipe Scolari’s squad for this summer. An emphatic 4-1 rout against Japan ensured they finished top with nine points, as Ronaldo bagged a brace, Juninho Pernambucano and Gilberto Silva also chipped in with goals.
