Jockey and Coral ambassador Jim Crowley previews his two rides at Newmarket on Wednesday.

I’ve not ridden this horse before, but he’s got a win to his name and comes here off the back of two solid runs this year, so we know he’s race fit. They were both on the all-weather, and his win came on the turf, so this switch back to the grass should suit. This is a competitive handicap, but another consistent run from this fellow would give him decent each-way claims.
Shadwell run two in this fillies’ maiden, and I’ve chosen Mubhijah over Rowayeh. The former has much more experience and ran well at this course at the back end of last season, finishing third. I thought she would win last time out, but we just got pipped by a nice horse of Michael Bell’s, that was on the all-weather, and I think she’ll appreciate being back on turf.
She was quite big and weak last year, and has done well physically over the winter, and she will also improve plenty for her Southwell run, which she will need to do as this is a better race. Rowayeh is having her first run of the season, and she will hopefully come on for it, so while there will be more to come from both I’m sure, I think I’ve made the right choice for this race.
