Jockey and Coral ambassador Jim Crowley discusses the chances of his three rides at Ascot on Saturday.

Jim enjoyed 9/2 and 33/1 winners at Chester on Friday with Revich and Zinc White!
He’s a grand horse and he won in impressive fashion at Newmarket a few weeks ago. He dropped back to 7f there and I’d been telling connections for a while I thought he’d appreciate the step back in trip, so I was relieved he didn’t make me look too stupid.
Having said that, he does stay a mile well, so the stiff 7f at Ascot should really suit him, and the ground shouldn’t be an issue either. He’s only been raised 2lb for that win last time, which I think is fair, and there looks to be plenty of pace over where he’s drawn in stall two, so everything is in his favour and I think he’ll run really well.
I obviously don’t know a lot about this horse as he’s making his debut here, but he makes plenty of appeal on paper. He’s out of Magna Grecia, who was a very good two-year-old, so hopefully this lad follows in his footsteps. I know Pat Dobbs is on another nicely bred horse for the stable, so maybe he had the choice of them, but Western looks to have plenty going for him, so I’m looking forward to the ride.
It could turn out to be a hot little race though, as there are some really nice types on paper. Karl Burke’s horse Valour And Swagger is the only one to have had a run and he won really nicely at Windsor that day, so even under a penalty he could take some stopping.
This is my first time riding her, but she won very nicely on the all-weather at Lingfield last time, so hopefully she can transfer that to the turf. That was her first run for Chris Wall too since leaving James Fanshawe, so there could be even more to come from her.
She seems to like cut in the ground, so again conditions won’t be a problem for her, and she could be better than a mark of 73, so I can see her going very close.
