Our man Jim Crowley previews his ride on Akmaam in the Craven Stakes on Thursday.
It’s a big shout to run here. The Craven is a good race. He won first time out at Ascot last year and then ran a nice race in the Autumn stakes at Newmarket. I felt the ground was plenty soft enough for him that day.
He’s by a great stallion Wootton Bassett. I’m looking forward to riding him. Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to get down and ride him in work yet this year.
He’s a horse that Brian Meehan likes a lot. We’ll find out how good he is. He could make up into a Guineas horse, or he could be a Jersey type horse.
