Goodwood - 4.45 – Savage Mariner

This is a week we always look forward to, and we start the week with Savage Mariner, for owners Jim and Fitri Hay, who love to have runners, and winners, here.  What happened at Ascot last month was frustrating, he just stepped on his shoe going into the stalls, and as a result never got going in the race.

He was a little bit sore after that, so we gave him a short break, but his work since has been really pleasing, particularly his piece of work from last Friday.  If he can repeat what he showed me at home then on the track, then I think he can run a huge race.  He’s a horse we really like, and I think he has a bright future, so I hope he can go well.
