Carabao Cup final betting tips: Liverpool and Chelsea tough to split
Preview and odds for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final

The first domestic silverware of the season will be handed out on Sunday afternoon and we have Carabao Cup final betting tips as Liverpool and Chelsea face off for the third time this term.
This is only the second time since 2016 that Manchester City haven’t featured in the final, with both Liverpool and Chelsea losing on penalties to City during that period. Although, both sides are no strangers to appearing in finals and the same can be said for their respective managers, Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel.
Sunday’s game at Wembley, which is the feature of Coral’s free-to-play Football Super Series this weekend, kicks off at 4.30pm and is live on Sky Sports.
Klopp on the charge for trophies
Liverpool have looked right back to the side that won the Champions League in 2019, and then secured a first Premier League crown the following season, so far this term and they are closing on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table with every week that passes.
They are also in a commanding position in their last 16 Champions League tie with Inter Milan, in the fifth round of the FA Cup and arguably well placed to launch an assault on an unprecedented quadruple that has alluded their great rivals Manchester United and City in the past.
For that dream to come to fruition they first have to win the Carabao Cup for the first time in 10 years and the man in the Liverpool hot-seat will be eager to pick up his fifth major trophy with the club.

In Mo Salah, Klopp has arguably the world’s form player at his disposal and the Egyptian King tuned up for his first appearance in a Wembley final by extending his lead in the Premier League top scorer charts with a brace against Leeds in midweek.
Chelsea have cup specialists tag
Although their early challenge for the Premier League title has hit the skids and they look resigned for third place in the top flight, the Tuchel era at Stamford Bridge has already seen three trophies make their way into the trophy cabinet and they have become a standing dish at the latter stages of cup competitions with the German in charge.
They appear to be through the worst of their Christmas injury crisis at just the right time and having landed the Club World Cup in the UAE recently, extended their unbeaten run to seven when beating Lille 2-0 in Champions League action in midweek.
Chelsea’s defensive prowess under Tuchel has turned the Blues into a tough nut to crack in the biggest games as Manchester City found out in the Champions League final in Porto. They will be looking for a carbon copy of their heroics on that occasion as they look to stop a Liverpool attack firing on all cylinders.

One issue Tuchel may have to resolve is Romelu Lukaku’s prolonged lack of form. The Belgium international was left out for the midweek game in Europe and that may be the case here, as Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic could get the nod once more to offer the Blues greater variety in attack.
There are a couple of #Yourcall options which could pay dividend with Chelsea to win or draw, both teams to score in the second half and over 2.5 goals catching the eye at 13/2.
Head-to-head
It has been honours even in both Premier League meetings between these two this season and the draw is 11/5 in Carabao Cup final betting tips. Both teams found the net in those two fixtures and it would be no surprise if that trend continues at 10/11, while you can combine both BTTS and a draw for a 10/3 selection in Carabao Cup final betting tips.
Mateo Kovačić’s strike against Liverpool wins the Premier League Goal of the Month for January.
Of course it did ☄️

Klopp v Tuchel
It is not just the teams who have a fierce rivalry, but the managers also, who have clashed 17 times in the past.
Their careers have followed a similar path with Tuchel succeeding Klopp first at Mainz and then Borussia Dortmund before, ultimately, following him into the Premier League via a spell at PSG.
Liverpool’s boss boasts nine victories from the times they have faced off in the dugout, with Tuchel prevailing just three times, although it is arguably the Chelsea gaffer that has had the upper hand in England so far, with one win and two draws the three times he has come up against Liverpool.

Key trends
Liverpool have won four of their last five to nil, while for Chelsea it is only a slightly worse record, keeping the opposition quiet in four of their last six.

For a #Yourcall option you could try a speculative punt on Chelsea to win the first half, Liverpool to win the second half and the match to end all square at 12/1.
