BREAKING NEWS: David Moyes gets the sack at Real Sociedad

Sociedad stayed patient with Moyes until that 11th game of La Liga campaign, but they have now slipped down 16th place, equal on points with 18th and just two above the bottom.

Along with former Manchester United and Everton boss Moyes, his assistant and fellow Scot Billy McKinlay has also been given the chop, and according to reports in Spain former Barcelona B coach Eusebio Sacristan is strongly linked to take over.

Moyes’ highlight with Sociedad was perhaps claiming a famous 1-0 win over Barcelona last season, and he did smash basement club Levante this term too, but in the end fans and the owner decided it was time for him to go.

Although Moyes, who won 28.5 per cent of his games in charge at the San Sebastian outfit, is now with out a job, he could be seen back in England sooner than expected, with a number of clubs chasing his services.
