Coral brings you the latest odds to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or award
England and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is the current favourite to win the award
Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Michael Olise, Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal are the closest challengers

Harry Kane is the favourite to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or in Coral's latest odds following his heroics for England at the World Cup.
The Three Lions skipper's sensational brace secured a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory against DR Congo for his fourth and fifth goals at the tournament so far which, following on from a remarkable season for Bayern Munich, has seen him become the frontrunner for the prestigious award, ahead of the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Michael Olise and Lionel Messi.
Kane is now the frontrunner to become the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to win the Ballon d'Or, with the 32-year-old in the form of his life for club and country.
He scored 61 goals for Bayern Munich in 2025/26, while he is in contention to win the Golden Boot at the World Cup as he sits on five goals so far, just one behind Mbappe and Messi. His main aim will be to help England win their first World Cup since 1966, which they are currently fourth favourites for.
Coral makes Kane a 5/2 shot to win the Ballon d'Or in 2026, while he is 9/1 to win the Golden Boot and only 8/1 to win the Golden Ball - the award given to the best player at the tournament.
“Kane is unstoppable right now and after his crucial brace against DR Congo, he has jumped to the top of the Ballon d’Or betting. Michael Owen was the last Englishman to win the award in 2001, and punters are convinced he will follow in Owen’s footsteps,” said Coral’s John Hill.
While the current favourite, Kane is not short of stiff competition to land the award for the first time, with the French trio Mbappe (3/1), Dembele (4/1) and Olise (6/1) making up the top four in the market, while Argentina superstar Messi (7/1) and Spain talisman Lamine Yamal (8/1) are also in contention.
Whichever team ends up winning the World Cup is likely to have a huge bearing on where the award goes, with France the current favourites after some impressive showings so far, which could see any of Mbappe, Dembele or Olise land the award.
Last year's winner Dembele was also part of the Paris Saint-Germain side which won the Champions League for the second successive season, which is another feather in his cap in his hopes of winning the award again.
Argentina have now been installed as second favourites at the World Cup, which has seen Messi come into contention to win the award for the 10th time.
With Euro 2024 winners Spain another key contender to lift the trophy, Yamal remains another challenger, with La Roja bound to need their 18-year-old talisman to be in top form if they are to win the competition for the second time.
