Jim Crowley began his professional career as a jump jockey, riding almost 300 winners under that code. In 2006, he switched to the flat, and in 2009 rode his first Group One winner, Lord Shanakill, in the Prix Jean Prat.
In 2016 he was crowned champion jockey, and in the same year he was appointed as first jockey to the late Sheikh Hamdan's Shadwell operation, a role he holds to this day. As retained rider for Shadwell, Jim has partnered numerous top class runners, including champions Battaash and Baaeed.
