Improvement from the unexposed handicap newcomer Liberate is one possible answer but it looks very tight between those who have already been in handicap action and that's well illustrated by the small margins which separated four of these in the similarly valuable Ascot handicap five weeks ago won by Turty Tree. That form has been boosted by third-placed Archers Bay but it might be that the dependable runner-up DECADE OF TIME is the one to latch on to today, now that he has such a solid first attempt at this trip under his belt. Turty Tree might be the chief danger, while Devil's Peak completes the shortlist, but the vast majority of runners prompt enthusiasm.[Richard Austen]
