Recent renewals have been dominated by high-drawn runners but the track has looked a fairly level playing field this week and there is a good spread of pace across the course. James Owen saddles two leading contenders in Soldier's Tree and Far Above Dream and the latter, who boasts an unbeaten record over C&D, could prove the pick of the pair. Tuco Salamanca, Sondad, Dark Thirty and Mitbaahy all have something to recommend them but the pair to appeal most are Two Tribes and FERROUS. The former has strong claims bidding to follow up his win last year, arriving on the back of an excellent second at Ascot, but Ferrous is marginally preferred. His second at Hamilton two weeks ago came in a small field but he was unlucky to miss out and the performance was backed up by the clock. He can belatedly confirm himself as effective on turf as the AW.[Paul Smith]
