La Furia Roja head into tournament managerless

Coral’s trading team have reacted to Spain’s sensational sacking of manager Julen Lopetegui by pushing out the odds of La Furia Roja winning the World Cup.

Spain had been 6/1, but have drifted out to 13/2 having sacked their boss just a day before the tournament begins.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “It looks an astonishing decision by Spain to sack their manager on the eve of the World Cup and we think it’s a hammer blow to their chances of glory in Russia this summer. “

He added: “Brazil now look even stronger favourites and we predict many punters will jump ship and change their allegiances to the Selecao.”

Brazil are 4/1 in the betting, with Germany next-best at 5/1. As for Spain, they’re now joint-third alongside France at 13/2.
