Windsor 12.50 – Scorpio Rising
I am looking forward to riding Scorpio Rising. I think he's improved with each run, to be honest. His last win at Lingfield was quite impressive. He's gone up a bit for it, but it's nice prize money and I think he'll have a great chance.
Windsor 1.20 – Wade Out
Wade Out was meant to run at Warwick on Classic Chase Day, but that meeting did not beat the weather. Although he has a 100% record over fences, he has raced very lazily in those races, particularly at Cheltenham last time. He does need to wake up a little bit, as I don't think he'll get away with that around here, as it’s a sharper track. He'll need to race a bit better, but if he does, he's got all the ability in the world.
Windsor 2.25 – Kap Boy
Kap Boy should have a nice chance. I thought he ran nicely enough at Kempton last time. We couldn't really go the gallop he wanted to over 2m5f, so the step up to 3m should really suit him. I think he's got a lovely weight. He'll stay well, the track and ground will suit, and I think he's got a big each-way chance at a decent price.
Windsor 3.00 – Resplendent Grey
I am looking forward to getting back on board Resplendent Grey. I don’t think he ran his race at Newbury on Coral Gold Cup Day. He got behind early and never got into it. This is a strong race, however, Protektorat is 11 now, so it will be interesting to see if he is still at his best.
There are two horses here that will go a strong gallop in this race. If Resplendent Grey can get into a rhythm early and if he turns up in the right mood, he'll be thereabouts. I am confident he will put that Newbury run behind him.
Windsor 3.35 – Gold Clermont
I thought Gold Clermont ran really well in a four miler at Kelso last time. She looked like the winner two out and then made a bad mistake. I thought she'd run a big race that day. This is a big field of 17 runners, it is a competitive race, but I will be riding to finish in the placings, and hopefully she can do so at a big price.
Windsor 4.05 – Eustace Grenier
Eustace Grenier ran nicely enough at Southwell. He was dropped in and then ran on well. He'd have learned plenty from that experience. There are likely to be some unexposed horses in this field. Hopefully, my horse takes a step forward, and we will see where that takes him.
