2:08 – Secret des Dieux
Secret des Dieux ran a good race last time at Huntingdon. He’d put together a few solid runs before that over the Christmas period as well, so he’s been consistent.
He’s stepping up in grade again here, which always makes things a bit tougher, but he comes into the race in good order, and I think he should go there with every chance if things fall right for him.
2:40 – The Four Sixes
The Four Sixes is a bit of a funny horse. His last two runs haven’t really been up to his best, and he’ll need to bounce back to the sort of form we know he’s capable of.
From what I gather, his last run might have come a bit too quickly for him after a previous outing, so hopefully he can get back on track here. If he returns to his better form, he could be competitive, but he does need to show a bit more.
3:18 – Barlovento
Barlovento obviously won over this course and distance on Boxing Day, so we know Kempton suits him. He seems to enjoy the track, and the flatter nature of the course plays to his strengths.
The ground might have been a bit softer than ideal for him last time, so coming back here on what should be nicer ground could suit him better. Given his previous form at Kempton, you’d like to think he has a solid chance.
4:28 – Doctor Ken
Doctor Ken will have top weight in this handicap chase, which obviously won’t make life easy. That said, he’s been very consistent in his two runs this season.
He probably needs to find a little bit more to win a race like this, but you know he’ll turn up and run his race. With that consistency, he should be there or thereabouts again.
5:03 – Seven Airs
Seven Airs runs in the bumper and, to be honest, I don’t know a huge amount about him yet.
He’s trained by Tom Weston, who has been having a very good season with his bumper horses, and they all seem to be running well. The yard is in great form, so if this horse has any ability, he should put up a good showing.
