12:43 – Tap Tap Shamie

Tap Tap Shamie made his first start under Rules for us at Wincanton last time, and I was really pleased with him. He stayed on well and gave me a good feel. On another day, he would have won that race but was unfortunate to go down by a neck. I think Carlisle will suit him well, so I’m hopeful he goes there with a solid chance.

1:13 – Eaton Anne

To be honest, Eaton Anne threw the race away at Wetherby last time – he should have won, but didn’t help himself, missing nearly every fence up the straight. If he can get into a good rhythm and travel properly, he’s got the ability to go very close, but he can be his own worst enemy at times.

1:48 – Dr Seb

Dr Seb had been off the track for a while ahead of his run at Wincanton, where he travelled okay for a long way before blowing up. He should come on plenty for that, and stepping up to around three miles at Carlisle looks like it will suit him well. There’s every chance he can improve and get back into the winner’s enclosure, as he did before his break.

2:23 – Belvedere Bhoy

This will be my first ride for Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore. Looking at his form, he hasn’t shown a huge amount in novice hurdles so far, but he’s on a low mark now and ran a bit better in a handicap last time. It would be great if he could step forward again and give a good account here.

4:05 – Moyganny Phil

Moyganny Phil has shaped nicely in a couple of maiden hurdles, and I thought two miles at Huntingdon last time was a bit sharp for him. He stayed on well to finish third, and stepping up in trip on good-to-soft ground at Carlisle should suit him much better. His handicap mark looks fair, so I expect a big performance.

4:40 – Kado Sacree

Kado Sacree showed promise early on in his career, winning a point-to-point and then running well to finish fourth on his first start under Rules at Exeter. His form has dipped a little since, but now he’s in handicaps, that might help him get back on track.
