Sean Bowen: He does seem to love it round this course

Jockey and Coral ambassador Sean Bowen previews his four rides at Cheltenham on Friday.

12.05 Cheltenham – Shinji

He showed a decent level of ability in bumpers, and although he ran well at Stratford on his first run over hurdles, he was disappointing at Fakenham the last day. Martin Keighley’s horses weren’t running too well at that time, but they seem to be in much better form now, so hopefully he can take a decent step forward from that.

It looks a really strong race, and he probably has a good bit to find, but if he can put up a more promising showing than last time, then I’d say we’d be happy with that.

1.15 Cheltenham – Go Dante

He ran really well when sixth in the Greatwood here last time, and he’s been dropped a pound for that, so every little helps. That was his first start of the season too, and I felt he would definitely improve for the run, so although this does look a competitive little race, I think he goes there with a solid chance.

He’s a horse myself and Olly have always thought plenty of, so I’m really looking forward to riding him again now he’s had that outing under his belt.

1.50 Cheltenham – Brianna Rose

She travelled and jumped nicely at Market Rasen last time, but she just stopped quite quickly on me. That was around a similar time to when Shinji ran, and Martin’s horses were struggling, so I’m optimistic she’ll fare better here now the stable are in better form.
