Joe Tizzard: “I expect big runs from both mares”
Trainer and Coral ambassador Joe Tizzard discusses his two runners at Cheltenham on Thursday.

I think her last two runs have been her best two yet, and her win in the Grade 2 mares’ novice hurdle final at Newbury last time was almost her Gold Cup this season. She carried top weight that day, and to win in those soft conditions was a great effort. We could have stopped for the season then, but she’s in great from at home, and is only a novice for another couple of weeks, so thought it worth having a go at this nice Listed prize.
She does carry a three pounds penalty here which won’t make life easy against some of these, but she travels well, will love the course and the going, and should run well.

Rose Of Arcadia is the best mare in the race, and carries top weight accordingly, so we have Harry [Kimber] taking off three pounds. She’s won three times this season and has improved for going chasing, and the only question mark here is the ground, as her best form has been on softer going.
She’s another in good form though, the trip will suit, and although giving weight away all round won’t be easy, I do expect another big run.
Joe
