1.45 Ascot – Laureate Crown

He is a nice big horse who is just about ready to make his debut. He has been working nicely ahead of this run. The way Jamie Spencer rides, I think, will suit him perfectly. I would be slightly surprised if he were to win on debut, but he should be finishing his race strongly. I’d put this horse in your notebook as one for the future.

4.15 York – Miss Piggle

Miss Piggle is back to a more realistic grade. She won on debut, and then things have been tough for her since. 6f at York should suit her. The booking of Hollie Doyle will also help. She is in good nick, so there is no reason to think she won’t run well here.

4.50 Ascot – Roman Dragon

I am particularly excited about Roman Dragon on Saturday. I felt like the 6f at Ascot just stretched him. He was a winner over 5f in Bahrain, and I think this is his distance. I’ve just switched the cheekpieces to blinkers. If he has a target, he could finish well and outrun his odds.

8.00 Hamilton – He’s Got Game

He has been a tricky horse to train as he does not like the AW and he needs cut in the ground. I just felt like I had to declare him with it being described as ‘Good to Soft’ at Hamilton. However, I just can’t quite believe that will be the going on Saturday evening. We will assess just before racing what the ground is like and decide whether to run him or not.
