Hugo Palmer Saturday runners blog: 'A turning track should help him step forward'

Hugo Palmer's four runners for Saturday's races at Redcar and Haydock are previewed by the trainer himself in his latest Coral ambassador blog.

Dream Voyage is a filly who has had a load of little, niggly problems, nothing too physical, but enough to mean we’ve not had the clearest of runs with her.  We’re stepping her up in trip to a mile here, it poses a new question, but her brother, Native King, stayed a mile, so maybe she will too.

We are at least drawn well in stall four of ten, and fast ground will suit her, so hopefully Luke Morris can get her on the far rail, grab a good position on her, and get her going from there.

Boston Run is the first of three runners at Haydock for us, and he’s been drawn well in stall three, although I wouldn’t want the ground to get any faster for him.  I’ve upgraded his headgear to a visor, which hopefully will work the oracle with him as we seek that elusive first win.

If our first two runners on the day have been drawn well, poor old Hawksbill has once again had no luck, and is in stall eight here, although he is a course and distance winner, and Richard Kingscote is a Haydock specialist.  On his last two runs he’s been drawn on the wrong side at Ascot, but still hasn’t run badly, and he’s in good form, so hopefully the turning track and nice ground should help him step forward.

Adorla Of Achill is another course and distance winner who has been done no favours by the draw.  I’ve put the cheekpieces on her here, as I felt she wasn’t quite going through with her effort on her last two runs, but she looks great at home and at her best could resume winning ways.
