There is a clear favourite for this race in the Dan Skelton-trained Mr Hope Street, who steps back up in trip here on a more competitive mark than on his latest start at Sandown. The yard are seeing some Aintree success already and this should be another good run.

Neil King’s Lookaway seeks a hat-trick, but carries topweight here which could prove tricky. A consistent sort, though, he rarely runs poorly and should be involved at the finish.

Konfusion fell when last seen at Cheltenham in the Ultima, but he’s ordinarily a very consistent and improving sort. His recent fall may put some off though.

Ben Pauling’s Bad is down a pound since his latest appearance at Kempton, which could help him, as could the step back up in trip, but he does carry near top weight.

We have a French raider here too, in the shape of Hugo Merienne’s In Love, who makes his UK debut and is a bit of an unknown quantity.

Christian William’s Deep Cave is down a pound since last time, and could be more competitive than his latest two starts at Doncaster and Kempton.

He’s been freshened up since his latest run in February and he won the hurdle equivalent of this race at Aintree last year, so he could be a good option.

Coral’s big-race tip: Deep Cave at 12/1
