Grand National: 2026 Aintree Liverpool Hurdle contenders and tip
Ahead of the Grand National today, Coral previews all of the races taking place on April 11, continuing with the Liverpool Hurdle.
2026 Liverpool Hurdle contenders and tip
The three-mile Liverpool Hurdle could be one of the best top level races of the Grand National festival and looks open in the market.
Prominent owner JP McManus has a duo in the race; first strong Honesty Policy and Impose Toi, who has been demoted somewhat by being beaten when favourite for the Cleeve Hurdle and pulled up in the Stayers at Cheltenham.

Honesty Policy has been close enough to be relatively confident about him here, but he will still have to produce a career best to win this.
Home By The Lee was the Stayers Hurdle winner and seeks a Graded hat-trick here, having won over course and distance last year in a high class handicap. He looks overpriced at 6/1.
Hewick didn’t run too badly in the Stayers Hurdle, finishing seventh of 10, but is now on his second start post wind surgery, which can be the better run. He’s the type to spring a surprise, but might be past the top of his game now at 11 years old.
Doddiethegreat pulled up last time but, when completing, he consistently outruns his odds and rarely finishes out of the prize money. If he is back on form, he could prove at 33/1 is a gross underestimation.
Take No Chances is of interest. She steps back up in trip here, having been very close to Impose Toi and Strong Leader in similar level races earlier in the season. Her run in the Mares’ hurdle was underwhelming but she might be better for the longer distance.
Coral’s big-race tip: Take No Chances each-way at 22/1
