France v Germany betting tips: Munich hosts heavyweight showdown

Germany finished their European Championship preparations with a bang, winning 7-1 at home to Latvia. Three of their previous five matches have seen over 2.5 goals, which can be backed at 11/10.

These two teams already know plenty about each other due to the world-class talent on show but it is France who have had the upper hand in recent meetings.

Les Bleus are unbeaten in their previous five fixtures against Germany, winning four of those. Die Mannschaft’s last win was during their 2014 World Cup success.

France were held to a goalless draw – which is priced at 7/1 – in the 2018 Nations League campaign at the same venue before an Antoine Griezmann brace helped overcome an early Toni Kroos penalty in the return leg.

They met five years ago in this competition at the semi-final stage and it was Griezmann who came up trumps once again to score both goals and secure a 2-0 victory.

The striking options will be key to success in Munich and Deschamps has a selection dilemma for the opening match.

Karim Benzema is an injury doubt after coming off in the first half of their final friendly against Bulgaria and was replaced by Olivier Giroud, who increased his international goal tally to 46 with a brace.

Benzema is likely to start if he has recovered from the knock and is 5/1 to open the scoring and 5/2 to net anytime, while Giroud is 11/2 and 14/5 in the respective markets.

Griezmann has scored a brace in two separate matches against Germany and is 25/1 to score two or more, while he is also 11/2 to break the deadlock and 14/5 to score anytime.

Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry has led the line in the last five games for Die Mannschaft and is 11/2 to score first and 14/5 to breach France’s defence.
