1.45 – Berkshire Schmokin
He made his debut at Sandown last month and he was very green. Ascot is a much more of a galloping course, so I think he will be suited to that. He is a War Of Will colt who should take a step forward.
2.22- Never So Brave
Never So Brave produced a brilliant performance last time out when winning the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot. That race came over 7f, and he is now stepping up a furlong for the Summer Mile, which shouldn’t be a problem.
This horse has always looked like a progressive type. He had some smart form with Sir Michael Stoute, and he has continued to improve under Andrew Balding. I had a sit on him the other day and he feels well within himself.
I think this is one of the best races of the day, as you have the Wolferton winner (Haatem), Royal Hunt Cup winner (My Cloud) and Quddwah won a Listed race in France recently. My horse is well in the mix and is capable of successfully following up from his Royal Ascot triumph.
3.30 – Star Of Dubai
It was a good run from Star Of Dubai at Sandown last time where she finished second behind a smart filly from William Haggas’ yard. She is a lightly-raced horse and I think Ascot will suit her. The ground will also be perfect, as she broke her maiden on Firm ground at Bath earlier this season.
4.10 – Mount Atlas
There was very little wrong with Mount Atlas’ runner in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes. He brings some strong form to the table here. I think he has a big win in him, and hopefully that will be here in this valuable handicap contest.
4.50 – Redorange
Redorange finished third in the Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes at Royal Ascot, beaten by only a length. He was on the wrong side of the course in that race, with the high numbers dominating the finish.
He is a fast horse who has had good draw in this contest. This is a great ride to pick up and I am excited to jump on board.
5.20 – Lessay
If they go fast in this race, Lessay should be competitive. He took a while to get going in his career, but we have now figured him out. He is down to his last winning mark, so the handicapper has given him a chance.
