Coral Horse Racing: Saturday ITV Races - February 28, 2026
1.10 - Kelso
This race looks more his speed on a much more workable mark, and having Brian Hughes in the saddle will only aid his chances.
TIP: Bleu d’Enfer
1.25 - Doncaster
Looking to be overpriced, this mare is yet to show much downside and she could do even better for the step up in trip here. Her trainer is having a very good season too, which aids confidence
TIP: Limerick Lass
1.40 - Kelso
Dan Skelton’s 11-year-old veteran stable star should outclass the rest of the field by some way and it would take a sub-par performance to get him beaten here.
TIP: Protektorat
1.55 - Doncaster
Looking to have recaptured some of her more promising form, this mare may yet prove to be better than her mark and should be happiest over this trip.
TIP: Queens Gamble
2.15 - Kelso
This six-year-old was so impressive last time at Wetherby, when winning by 15 lengths, that is is hard to look past on this occasion, running for Ben Pauling who is having a strong set of results this term.
TIP: Starmount
2.30 - Doncaster
Given a handy three pounds by Charlie Maggs, this eight-year-old has had wind surgery and might prefer the marginally better going on offer today.
TIP: Some Scope
2.55 - Kelso (Morebattle Hurdle)
Possibly preferring slightly more cut in the ground today, this horse might have been campaigned for this race and no horse of the Skeltons can be overlooked at his point in the season.
TIP: Quaviste
3.15 - Newbury
More famous for the times he hasn’t won than the times he has, Mister Coffey goes closest on today’s mark and, given that he rarely runs poorly, he’s usually worth an each-way, but has a solid winning chance today.
TIP: Mister Coffey
3.30 - Kelso
A very consistent 2025 promises plenty for this 10-year-old, who was immediately back to form when returning for this season last month. Down a pound, he can take a step forward.
TIP: Fingal’s Hill e/w
3.45 - Newbury (Greatwood Gold Cup)
A winner last time at Kempton in decisive style, this eight-year-old will have to produce a career best but should be able to do so around Newbury’s very fair track.
TIP: Issam
