Coral Horse Racing: Cheltenham Trials Day Tips - January 24, 2026
12.05 - Timeform Novices’ Handicap Chase
TIP: Jordans Cross
A faller when going well at the Cheltenham November meeting, this six-year-old of Anthony Honeyball’s has proven himself over fences, a variety of ground and the undulations of Cheltenham, so has a big chance here.
12.40 - JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle
TIP: Tenter Le Tout
Trained by Chester Williams, whose horses have been running with an incredible strike rate of 30% this season, his first, this filly has won a Grade Two contest at Chepstow prior to this, which should have set her up nicely to win this with her mares allowance.
1.15 - Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase
TIP: Boombawn
Back into handicap company after picking up plenty of prize money in graded races last year, Boombawn looks a generous each-way price and can keep his form consistent, even from the top of the handicap.
1.50 - Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase
TIP: Placenet
In a competitive and unpredictable race, this French raider could improve on his latest start at this track from last month, in which he finished a good fourth of 14. Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle this time will be an asset too.
2.25 - Cotswold Chase
Tip: Grey Dawning
An impressive winner of the Betfair Chase at Haydock in November, Grey Dawning rarely runs a poor race and represents a stable which is bang in form, with a 20% strike rate at Cheltenham this term.
3.00 - International Hurdle
TIP: Sir Gino
Having taken the step back to hurdling in his stride, Sir Gino won at this meeting as a juvenile, so is more than sufficiently proven to act here. His emphatic win at Kempton on Boxing Day gives plenty of confidence going into this race.
3.35 - Cleeve Hurdle
TIP: Impose Toi
With good course form and three wins to his name already this term, Impose Toi is difficult to oppose here. If in as good form as when last seen at Ascot in the Long Walk Hurdle, he’s the one to beat. Stablemate Doddiethegreat could go close and could be an each-way selection.
4.10 - AIS Novices’ Hurdle
Tip: Heads Up
An Irish raider trained by John McConnell, this six-year-old has proved to be consistently good in his career so far. Two great runs at Cheltenham for second place on both occasions promise plenty and further improvement looks likely.
