Found the Grade 2 Hyde Novices’ Hurdle a bit too hot to handle last month in Grade 2 company but has placed at this track previously and looks well-weighted to land this for trainer Dan Skelton.
Stepping up in trip having won at this track on his last spin, Nicky Richards' runner will have to defy a penalty to go in again but it is one he should be able to shoulder.
Taught to look past the seven-year-old in this one for the Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerreiro team, placed in four of her last five starts and is the form horse of the field.
Was a good second on his last run at this course and was a winner at Ayr back in January, with a decent fourth at Punchestown in between, so that form is strong heading to Kelso.
The Scottish Borders National is one of the highlights on the calendar at Kelso and the £26,405 top price can head the way of the Lucinda Russell and Richard Scudamore-trained eight-year-old, with two wins on the bounce at Wetherby and Ayr heading into Sunday’s race.
Trainer Skelton can bag his second winner on the card with his ten-year-old, a good second last time out at Carlisle and with jockey Harry Atkins claiming seven pounds as well, he could be tough to beat.
Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies could land the card closer at Kelso with their five-year-old runner, a winner last time out at Bangor and earlier this year at Huntingdon and was a good third at Perth on his penultimate run.
