One of two Irish raiders in this hot three-runner race, Firefox is a consistent horse at the top level and, having made a solid start to his season winning a Grade Two race at Down Royal, he can go from strength to strength.
Having had a run at Exeter to bring him to full fitness, this Paul Nicholls-trained six-year-old ought to step forward now and can win this race, with recent wind surgery having proven useful.
A fair return to action at Newbury should have set this gelding up nicely to get further to the front now back up in trip. He has good course form and, provided there isn’t much rain, he looks competitive.
Only just beaten when giving weight away to Impose Toi in the Coral Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury, Strong Leader should be able to reverse the form here.
Beaten only three lengths over course and distance last time out in a similar profile race, this seven-year-old looks to have a very strong chance off the same mark, now with that run under his belt.
Joe Tizzard’s exciting five-year-old has won his last two starts, including over course and distance, by a combined distance of nine lengths and has the talent to prevail again here.
