Cheltenham betting: 2026 Champion Bumper contenders and tip
Day two of Cheltenham betting concludes with the Champion Bumper, which Coral runs through the contenders and provides its tip for.
Coral's Champion Bumper Cheltenham 2026 tip
With all the runners in the Champion bumper being young and unexposed, this race is rarely a done deal as the marker indicates.
Love Sign d’Aunou is top of the market currently at 4/1, having won his bumper debut at Naas well. This will be a much sharper race, though, run on better ground and over a lesser trip.
Gordon Elliott’s Keep Him Company has won two bumpers over two miles on more comparable ground, so is better proven for this race and his form looks strong.
Paul Townend’s choice is Quiryn, who won at Naas in January. Having not run in point-to-points and with only the one bumper start to his name, he is one of the runners we know the least about here.
Just a four-year-old up against five and six-year-olds, though, the odds looks stacked against him.
Bass Hunter could bring in a good result for Chris and Freddie Gordon. He has won his two bumper starts by a combined nine lengths and the form is working out well. His trainer is having a good season, and the yard’s runners at Cheltenham tend to go well, so he could have an each-way chance at least.
Broadway Ted makes some appeal with Coral ambassador Sean Bowen on board. He has won his two bumpers this term on heavy ground and might be able to go even better on the sounder surface.
Coral’s big-race tip: Bass Hunter e/w at 10/1
