A full-sized field of 22 runners makes this a challenging race to decipher, but it looks highly likely to go the way of an Irish trainer.

Another Mullins horse, Doctor Steinberg, heads the betting having recently completed a hat-trick by a combined 18 lengths. He is hard to oppose here, stepping up in trip again, as there is little doubt he will stay the trip.

Paul Nolan’s Thedeviluno improved significantly for a step up in trip to three miles at Doncaster last time and, given that he is happy on better ground too, looks likely to run a nice race. He has plenty to find on ratings up against the favourite, though.

Kazansky could be overpriced for Gordon Elliott, having been second by eight lengths to Doctor Steinberg last time, but he looks unlikely to emerge as the winner. Stablemate Spinningayarn is the choice of first jockey Jack Kennedy, having won two recent starts over two and a half miles. He steps up in trip for the first time here and, bred to excel over the trip, he could make a splash at 12/1.

Gavin Cromwell’s The Passing Wife took a significant step forward last time at Punchestown over two and a half miles but that was on heavy ground and this surface might not be so preferable.

King’s Bucks is still a maiden but looks underestimated, having been just three lengths behind No Drama This End at the Cheltenham November meeting, and a very good run at Limerick last time out for second of 13 looks to have set him up well.

Coral’s big-race tip: Kazansky e/w at 16/1
