Championship 2025/26 promotion odds: Ipswich tipped for promotion

After another dramatic EFL season came to an end, Coral has released its 2025/26 Championship promotion odds, with Ipswich Town the favourites to get promoted.

It's sure to be another highly competitive promotion race, with Southampton, Sheffield United and Birmingham City next in the running.

The battle for the playoffs is always hugely exciting, and there are a cluster of teams including Middlesbrough, Coventry City and Leicester City that are right in the thick of it.

After consecutive promotions led them to the Premier League, Ipswich couldn't quite make the step up to the top flight. The good news for them is the bookies reckon they have what it takes to bounce straight back, with odds of 1/1 to get promoted.

Ipswich, who are also favourites to win next year's Championship title, will face strong competition from Southampton (5/4), who have new manager Will Still in charge.

Birmingham showed plenty of ambition to get out of League One. Could their big spending pay off as they attempt to do an Ipswich? They are 11/8 to achieve back-to-back promotions.

Leicester have a new manager in Marti Cifuentes, and they also face the threat of a points deduction for breaking financial rules. These factors could be why the Foxes, who won the Championship when they were last in it, are only 4/1 to get promoted.

Coventry had a superb second half of the season before a crushing last-minute loss to Sunderland in the playoff semi-finals. The Sky Blues will be hoping to carry that positive momentum forward, and are odds of 11/4 to go up.

Will this be the year Middlesbrough get over the line? Boro have finished in the top 10 in each of the last five seasons, but only in the playoff spots once. Rob Edwards' side are 4/1 to get promoted.

Seemingly each season, one team that is languishing in mid-table goes on a run of remarkable form to charge up the table and secure a play-off spot.

This year it was Frank Lampard's Coventry, in the past Steve Cooper dragged Nottingham Forest from the relegation spots to the Premier League. So who could it be next season?

West Brom fell out of the top six in the latter stages of last season, but recently appointed Spurs coach Ryan Mason to become their manager. It's his first full-time role, but could the young Englishman be the man to take the Baggies back to the top flight? They're also 9/2 to get promoted.

Millwall made steady progress under Alex Neil last season, finishing two points off the playoffs in 8th, and the Lions are 8/1 to win promotion next year.

There will be plenty of attention on Wrexham, whose remarkable rise up the pyramid continues. They are 10/1 to achieve a record-breaking fourth consecutive promotion.

You can also bet on the favourites to be relegated from next season's Premier League, with promoted sides Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland all tipped for an immediate drop back to the Championship.
