Sean Bowen
Coral Ambassador
Born in Pembrokshire in 1997, Sean Bowen's father, Peter, was a successful Point-to-point trainer who has gone on to enjoy great success under Rules, while his mother, Karen, was a champion point-to-point rider, so it was not surprising that a career in the saddle awaited Sean. In 2015 he turned professional, and that same year became the youngest-ever Champion Conditional jockey, aged just 17.
Losing his claim did not impact his upward career progression, and following Grade One wins on the likes of If The Cap Fits, Metier, Not So Sleepy and Strong Leader, in February 2025, the now Coral ambassador rode his 1,000th winner. Later that year he was crowned Champion jockey for the first time, with a total of 180 winners. Further championships will surely follow for a rider who has been compared to the great AP McCoy.
