Joe Tizzard

Based in Dorset, Joe enjoyed a successful career as a jump jockey, having been crowned Champion Conditional in 1999, as well as riding as stable jockey to the multiple champion trainer, Paul Nicholls.  Having ridden more than 700 career winners, he retired from the saddle to train alongside his father, Colin.  The family-run operation went on to enjoy great success, winning some of the biggest prizes in the game, including the Cheltenham Gold Cup with Native River and the King George VI Chase with Cue Card and Thistlecrack.

Taking the licence solely in his own name in 2022, Joe's first season as trainer was documented in Coral's six-part series, 'Taking The Reins', and the yard's longtime association with Coral continues today, with Joe training for the Coral Racing Club.
