This is a bewildering complex event with any number of horses who could improve; a case can be made for many. Two juveniles stand out on what we have seen: the poorly drawn Great Barrier Reef (second choice) who is the conventional pick on form, representing solid European Group-race form and figuriing to improve ar this distance, and the freakish US-trained How's Al Today who has a huge turn of foot and has been a revelation switched from turf to dirt, scoring in fast times. But an interesting colt lurks in this in the shape of MAN'S BEST FRIEND whose action and pedigree screams that returning to fast ground will suit; he is out of a Galileo mare and should thrive under a patient ride at this trip. Haffner is ough and well worth considering. [James Willoughby]
