Harry Derham was 'dumbfounded' when SPIROU managed to win at Newbury on stable debut after 852 days off the track and he could be up to defying top weight with improvement likely. A change of tactics, compared to his maiden victory, didn't work on handicap debut for Arslan but he's worth another chance off this mark. The hood worn for Saveforarainyday's easy maiden hurdle win is back on after she disappointed last time. Pioneer Pete must back up his wide-margin maiden hurdle win. [Denis Harney]
