Brazil to beat Argentina in the World Cup final at 13/1
Published:With just under a fortnight now until the World Cup, Coral are offering fantastic odds of 13/1 for Brazil to beat South American arch-rivals Argentina in the final of the tournament.
To put this bet into perspective, the two South American nations are not only the favourites from their continent to reach the final, but also favourites in the whole competition. They are priced at 13/8 and 2/1 respectively to get to the last two in the individual market, and are 9/1 shots to both meet in that fixture.
Although the duo have never met in a World Cup final, Brazil have beaten Argentina in two recent Copa Americas (2004 and 2007), so hold the mental advantage.
Both hosts Brazil (3/1 tournament favourites) and Argentina (4/1) have been given favourable pools, and should breeze through them with ease.
The Samba Boys will face Croatia, Mexico and Cameroon in Group A, and are odds-on both to finish top at 1/4, and qualify to the knockout phase at 1/25.
Argentina, meanwhile, have been placed in Group F, with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nigeria and Iran. They are also odds-on both to win the pool at 2/9, and reach the last 16 at 1/25.
The duo have won seven World Cups between them (Brazil with five, Argentina with two) and reached the final 11 times in total. This fixture is almost inevitable to occur again in their home continent.
No country from outside of South America has won the most prestigious international football tournament, when it has been held in the Americas.
Come back tomorrow for Coral’s next World Cup countdown special in the lead up to the tournament.
