All South American final at 4/1 in countdown special
Published:Coral’s World Cup countdown continues with just four days to go until the finals. Excitement can be felt around the globe, and special odds of 4/1 have been offered for an all South American final.
The World Cup has been hosted in this continent four times in history, with two South American nations fighting it out in the final on two of those occasions. One of those included the last time Brazil were hosts held the competition, in 1950, when they lost out to Uruguay.
In the other two final showdowns, a South American country reached the final and won as well, so this shows that conditions in this region of the globe do really make a difference.
Coral believe that the last two of this year’s competition will be from this continent. Brazil and Argentina are the top two favourites, at 13/8 and 2/1 respectively, to reach this stage, with the likes of Colombia (10/1), Uruguay (12/1), and Chile (16/1) also fantastic chances.
Even when the World Cup has been held in neighbouring continent North America, a South American country has always made the final and won.
In Mexico 1970 and USA 1994, Brazil were champions, beating Italy on both occasions, while in Mexico 1986, Argentina triumphed over West Germany in a thrilling 3-2 victory.
Come back tomorrow for another Coral World Cup countdown special as the tournament is just days away.
