| GENERAL SPORTING & BETTING RULES |
|
These Rules detail the terms under which bets are accepted in our Licensed Betting Offices. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are familiar with these Rules as we cannot guarantee that our staff will draw them to your attention. By making a bet, you accept these Rules apply to the particular sport or event on which you are placing your bet (including any applicable daily payout limits).
You must exercise your own judgment in choosing to place a bet. You acknowledge that, in placing your bet you are not relying on any statement of any employee of Coral relating to the subject matter of a Bet
Bets can only be placed on the outcome of a future event. If Coral mistakenly accept a bet for an event that has already occurred or if there is a clear indication of the likely outcome, then the bet will be void a–nd your stake returned. This does not include or affect Betting in Play bets.
|
| 1. MAXIMUM PAYMENTS |
 |
 |
The maximum payout on any bet or bets involving one or more of the same selections are shown below. These maximum payout amounts will apply even if, by taking a price, the level of potential winnings exceeds these amounts.
Where selections are taken from different categories listed below and are combined in multiple or accumulative bets, the lowest maximum payout limit will apply.
Where a range of accumulators or other multiple bets are placed including a common selection(s) the maximum payout will apply to all those bets including that selection, even if the bets are placed over a number of days.
Any group of customers who have placed the same combination of selections and we believe have been acting as a syndicate will be treated as one customer for the purpose of the limits below.
Should a number of bets, containing the same selection(s) be placed in one or more of our branches, via telephone and/or internet and we have reason to believe they’ve originated from one customer or group/syndicate of customers, then we reserve the right to limit the total payment of all those bets combined to the single maximum payout applicable to these rules.

| 2. ACCEPTANCE & SETTLEMENT OF BETS |
 |
 |
2.1
Bets are placed with Coral by writing instructions on a betting slip or completing an Easy slip. An Easy slip is similar to the marksense slip used by the Lottery/Lotto and requires you to indicate your stake, selections and bet type by marking a horizontal line in the appropriate rectangular box. We will process your bet by scanning it through our EPoS system and you will receive a printed receipt which has a unique bet number and shows a photo image of your bet (or printed details of your bet in case of Easyslip or where a ‘callover’ facility is available). The bet number and image or printed bet details must be registered on our EPoS system and be printed on your receipt for the bet to be valid.
2.2
No bet is accepted until we have provided you with a valid receipt that the bet has been accepted by us. We (Coral) reserve the right to refuse to accept the whole, or any part of any bet.
2.3
Once accepted, a bet can only be altered or cancelled by mutual consent.
Postal bets or bets put through letterboxes are not accepted.
2.4
In the event of any difference between the original slip presented by the customer and the customer receipt, the selections as they appear on the receipt as captured by our EPoS system will determine settlement. It is the responsibility of the customer to check the receipt carefully as mistakes cannot be rectified after the event.
2.5
It is your responsibility to ensure your bets are written clearly and also that your timing, instructions, spelling and stakes are correct. You should check your receipt to verify that the amount you have paid and your bet details have been correctly recorded. Bets can only be cancelled or changed by mutual consent. You must retain your receipt until all bets on your slip can be fully settled, when any returns due will be paid upon the surrender of your receipt.
2.6
Where a particular race is indicated by using racecard order, i.e., first race etc. then the race is taken as placed and timed in the day’s programme as given in the Racing Post with allowance being made for obvious printing errors.
2.7
The advertised times of races, the runners, the returns, and the results as published in the national / sporting press govern the settlement of all bets, errors and omissions excepted. ‘Through the Card’ type instructions are determined by reference to the published race programme, as are the instructions ‘First Race’, ‘Last Race’, etc.
2.8
Bets placed on horse racing will be settled in accordance with the official Weighed in Result. Where a result is amended after the Weigh in, for example, further to a successful appeal, the amendment will be ignored for settlement purposes.
2.9
Each-way doubles, trebles and accumulators are settled win to win and place to place, unless the instruction ‘each-way all each-way’ or ‘each-way equally divided’ is clearly specified on the betting slip by the Customer, then the bet (unless it is one of our speciality bets) is settled by this method.
2.10
In accumulative wagers where bet contingencies are related or where the same selection is taken to win more than one event, a combined price that reflects the relativity will be applied for settlement, regardless of any individual prices marked on the betting slip. In instances where a combined price cannot be applied the bet will be settled as singles dividing the total stake available proportionately amongst the selections. For example:
England to win match – M. Owen to score first. No correct score is specified therefore no price can be applied, the bet will be settled as split stake singles.
2.11
In the event of a dead heat for first place, the stake money on a winning selection is divided by the number of winners in the dead heat, and the full odds paid to the reduced stake, with the remainder of the stake money being lost.
A similar rule applies to the place part of a bet where, as a result of a dead heat, more than the required number of selections are placed.
2.12
We reserve the right to void any bet accepted by us and withhold settlement if we become aware that the bet breaches the governing rules of the relevant sport or event in question.
2.13
We produce an automated “no more bets time” for all horse, greyhound and number events covered in full service. Bets are valid if accepted up to this time. Except where prior authorisation is given, single bets accepted after the “no more bets time” will be void. In multiple bets, late selections will be treated as non runners.
2.14
Where the official “off” of a race or event is not announced, bets are accepted up to the advertised start time. Any bet that is inadvertently accepted after this time will be void unless we are satisfied that the bet was placed before the actual start of the event, except in the following circumstances (where betting in play is not available) : on golf tournament betting up to 15 minutes after the start time; a football match up to 15 minutes after the kick-off, providing there have been no goals scored or players sent off and any of the following sport events up to 5 minutes after the start time:- American Football, Baseball, Basketball, Bowls, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Gaelic Football / Hurling, Ice Hockey, Motor Sports, Rugby, Snooker / Pool, Speedway, Tennis. In each of these instances bets will stand, unless the customer receipt confirms that the late selection is void.
2.15
Any bet inadvertently accepted after an event has been resolved will be void.
2.16
Any bet accepted in error and contrary to the provisions as stated above, will be void even if you have been provided with a valid printed receipt.
2.17
We do not accept any responsibility for a bet not being placed for any reason, including but not limited to; computer or till malfunction, electricity failure, failure to telecommunications systems or services.
2.18
We reserve the right to refuse payment on any bet where we are unable to substantiate the selections and the instructions on our bet capture system.
2.19
A betting shop is, by its very nature, a fast moving environment. Odds move rapidly and bets are taken continuously, consequently mistakes can occur. We will do all that we can to avoid this but we cannot accept responsibility for any obvious errors or omissions in respect of the announcing, publishing or marking of prices, handicaps, place terms, runners or results despite our every effort to ensure total accuracy. If we do make an obvious error then the following rules will apply:
- We reserve the right to correct any obvious error made on a bet placed in one of our “betting in running” markets and settle at the correct price or terms which were actually available with Coral (absent the obvious error) at the time the bet was struck;
- When a bet is placed on a market offered before an event has started and more advantageous odds than those actually available with Coral are applied, we will either settle the bet at the correct price or terms available with Coral or, on condition that you can provide us with verification, at the best price or on the best terms available with any of the following companies at the time the bet was struck: - Bet 365, Betfred, Ladbrokes, Stan James, Totesport, William Hill.
- Where the incorrect odds or terms are less advantageous than those available with Coral the odds or terms will be amended to the correct odds or terms available.
For example:
Where Coral’s actual price for Ronaldo to score the first goal is 6/1 but you are quoted 66/1 in error then you will be able to determine whether your bet should be settled at 6/1 or the best price available with the companies listed above even if this price is higher than the actual Coral price.
Where, however, you have been quoted 6/4 on the same bet the price will be amended upwards to 6/1.
2.20
Bets are settled in accordance with the rules that govern the particular bet made.
If a bet is inadvertently accepted with any prices not written by or endorsed by our staff, the prices will stand provided they are clearly written and were available at the time the bet was processed. Where no price is available at the time the bet is placed, we reserve the right to settle horse and greyhound bets at starting price and sports/special event bets at the next available price. We do not lay ‘BAR’ prices nor do we accept instructions such as ‘First show’ prior to the transmission of a ‘show’ of betting for that race – any such bets taken in error will be settled at starting price.
2.21
Subject to these Rules we accept bets for all meetings held under the Rules of The Jockey Club (incorporating the National Hunt Committee) the Irish Turf Club and at the following venues licensed by the National Greyhound Racing Club:
| Belle Vue |
Milton Keynes |
Sittingbourne |
| Brough Park |
Nottingham |
Sunderland |
| Coventry |
Oxford |
Swindon |
| Crayford |
Perry Barr |
Walthamstow |
| Hall Green |
Peterborough |
Wimbledon |
| Hove |
Romford |
|
| Monmore |
Sheffield |
|
And any meeting for which a race card is printed in the Racing Post with the exception of Hull.
2.22
Instructions issued by means of a Press Announcement or by way of a notice displayed in our betting shops are to be read as being part of these Rules.
2.23
Selections for events or meetings not covered by the preceding paragraphs, or bets for events outside the direct control of the sports main governing body will be void unless the betting slip is authorised for acceptance and countersigned by a member of our Staff.
2.24
Coral may use information that it collects from you when placing a bet to collate statistics and betting patterns. By placing a bet, you consent to Coral’s use of such information.
2.25
In some shops a minimum stake unit applies, and local staff will inform you of the level of that minimum. If a bet is accepted for less than that minimum in error, the bet will stand for the amount paid.
2.26
Where there is evidence of price, race, match or event rigging, we reserve the right to make bets void or withhold settlement of bets pending the outcome of any subsequent investigation.
2.27
Throughout these rules, any reference to B.A.G.S. (the Bookmakers Afternoon Greyhound Service) should be deemed to include B.E.G.S. (the evening service).
|
| 3.
INCORRECT SPELLING, PRICING, STAKING AND AMBIGUOUS BET INSTRUCTIONS |
 |
 |
3.1
Where you INCORRECTLY TIME a named selection, which is not doubly engaged, the bet will stand for the race in which the selection actually runs. Should a doubly engaged selection be untimed or timed incorrectly, then the bet is deemed to be for the first race in which the selection runs after the bet was placed. If you include two selections, one of which is doubly engaged, in an accumulative or multiple bet but they run in the same race, then the selection which is doubly engaged will be automatically timed for the race in which the entries do not clash.
3.2
Should you WRONGLY SPELL a named selection the bet will stand provided that only one runner could possibly be intended. However, where the ambiguous selection combines the name of two or more runners, if we are unable to distinguish between two selections in the same race with similar names, then the stakes will be split. Where the first word/first letters do not uniquely define a selection, the race time will determine the intention. In any other instance the selection will be void.
3.4
Where a price has been marked on a slip that contains no selection, or an ambiguously written selection, the price will determine the intention.
3.5
Should you UNDERSTAKE your slip, the total return from the whole of your slip will be proportioned by the amount you have underpaid thereby reducing any return due (i.e. the return will be multiplied by the amount paid and divided by the amount that should have been paid).
3.6
Should you OVERSTAKE your slip, the total return for the whole of your slip will be proportioned by the amount you have overpaid, thereby increasing any return due (i.e. the return will be multiplied by the amount paid and divided by the amount that should have been paid). No overstaking will be returned.
3.7
Where you have written ONLY ONE SELECTION ON THE SLIP and the stake unit nominated does not correspond with the total amount you have paid, the total amount paid will determine the stake, for example, £5 win with a total stake of £10 will be settled as £10 win. £5 each way with a total stake of £20 will be settled as £10 each way.
3.8
Where you have nominated TOO FEW SELECTIONS for a bet type that has a fixed number of selections i.e. full cover bet such as Lucky 15, Yankee, Heinz etc then, subject to section 3.6 a non runner or non runners will be added. For example £1 Yankee with three selections, one non runner will be added to the three selections. The bet will not be treated as overstaked.
3.9
Where you have nominated TOO MANY SELECTIONS for a bet type that has a fixed number of selections i.e. a full cover bet such as a Lucky 15, Yankee, Heinz etc then the stake you have paid will be proportioned over the appropriate bet type for the number of selections. For example, if you stipulate ‘Yankee’ with a total of 11 bets but 5 selections, then settlement will be for 11/26ths of the total returns from a ‘Canadian’.
3.10
Where the bet type does not have a fixed number of selections or is of unequal stakes then the bet will be treated as understaked/overstaked, with the stake proportioned over the whole of the slip, in accordance with section 3.5.
3.11
Where your instructions indicate an intention for a ‘THROUGH THE CARD’ bet but you stake for FEWER RACES than there are on the programme, then the stake will be apportioned to cover all of the races. Similarly, if you stake for MORE RACES than scheduled, the stake will be apportioned over the correct number of races.
3.12
In multiple bets where two or more SELECTIONS RUN IN THE SAME RACE, stakes will be equally divided where the selections clash subject to section 3.1. For example, if you stipulate 3 x £2 win doubles and a £2 win treble on three selections, A B and C, with selections A and B being in the same race, then the bet is settled £1 win A, £1 win B, £2 double AC, £2 double BC and the treble becomes 2X£1 win doubles AC and BC.
3.13
Where you nominate the SAME SELECTION TWICE, then all bets will be settled as instructed with one of the duplicated selections becoming a non runner.
3.14
Where you stipulate the meeting and/or the time but DO NOT SPECIFY A SELECTION, the bet will be settled on the first favorite in the race stated. Where your bet is each way the place part will be settled ‘all up to win’.
3.15
Where NO INSTRUCTIONS are written against a single selection the bet will be settled as a win single. Where two or more selections are involved the bet will be settled as a win accumulator bet. For example; three selections nominated with a stake of £1, is settled as £1 win treble. Four selections nominated with bet instructions ‘£1 win treble’, total stake £1, is settled as £1 win fourfold.
3.16
Where both or all selections are in the SAME RACE then they will be settled as forecast bets to the appropriate stake i.e. two selections will be settled as one straight forecast in the order written; for three or more selections, the amount of stakes will be divided equally to include all forecast combinations (e.g. three selections written will be settled as six straight forecasts).
3.17
The only exception to this rule is where exactly three selections are nominated in a tricast race. In this case the bet will be settled as a straight tricast. For example 3 selections – stake £1 = £1 tricast.
3.18
Where you write a horse or greyhound selection giving both name and number and the two do not correspond, the name will take precedence over the number.
3.19
Where you take a show price or early bird price on a trap number or numbered horse selection and there can be no doubt as to the race on which the price was offered when the bet was accepted, the bet will be settled for that race, irrespective of the race time/meeting you have written on your slip.
3.20
Where your instructions are for a forecast single and there is only one selection written on the slip, it will be settled as a win single. Where your instructions are for a forecast and the two selections are in different races, the bet will be settled as a win double if a straight forecast is requested and an each way double if a reverse forecast is requested.
3.21
One, two or any number of crosses is taken to mean single stakes about. If double stakes about is required, you must clearly write this in the instructions. If both your selections are in the same race the any-to-come instruction will be ignored.
3.22
Where you have included an incorrect range for a stats bet your bet will stand for the correct range available for the bet requested. For example, if a market of over 90 points is advertised and a bet is accepted nominating over 80 points, then the bet will be settled on the market over 90 points.
|
| 4.
NUMBERED OR UNNAMED SELECTIONS WHERE TIME OR MEETING IS OMMITTED OR INCORRECT |
 |
 |
All bets on unnamed selection (i.e. favourites and numbered selections) must state the correct time and meeting otherwise the bet or affected part of the bet will be void. There are, however, the following exceptions:-
4.1
MEETING STATED – WRONG TIME
Provided the nominated time for a horse or greyhound meeting falls within five minutes of the advertised race time, the bet will stand even though there may be other meetings with a race at that time.
An incorrectly timed selection will be on for the next race after the time of acceptance of the bet at that meeting unless the time stated can be related to another horse/greyhound race meeting covered by a Course Betting Service or B.A.G.S in which case the race time will take precedence.
If not covered by the five minute rule above, in multiple bets which contain a selection(s) where the time and meeting do not correspond, the race time stated will be given precedence and the selection(s) will be settled on the meeting applicable to the race time.
4.2
MEETING STATED – NO TIME
SINGLE BETS, on horses, greyhounds or virtual, stand for the next advertised race at the meeting nominated.
4.3
TIME GIVEN – NO MEETING
Bets stand for the race timed. Where the time of the race clashes with other races, horses, greyhounds or virtual having the same advertised race time and covered by a full service or special Coral service, the following order of priority will be applied to determine settlement:- GB Horse race, then Irish Horse race, then BAGS race, then overseas horse race, then virtual race. Where the time stated applies to two GB horse races (or two Irish horse races etc) the stake will be divided between both meetings. Where the time stated does not correspond with any race, or corresponds with a race already resolved SINGLE BETS (including forecasts and tricasts) are settled on the next advertised horse, greyhound or virtual race covered by a full service.
Where the MEETING IS OMITTED but the collective race times can only apply to one particular meeting, then the bet will stand for that meeting. Where you use programme order or state ‘through the card’ greyhound bets will be settled on the first full BAGS meeting to start after the bet is placed, unless all BAGS meetings have already started that day.
4.4
NO MEETING – NO TIME
SINGLE BETS are settled on the next horse, greyhound or virtual race, covered by a full service that takes place after the bet is accepted.
Where the word ‘TRAP’ or ‘T’ precedes a numbered selection the bet is deemed to be for greyhound racing. For example, Trap 4, 3.00 Lingfield is settled for the 3.02 greyhound race even if there is a 3.00 horse race.
Bets for unnamed selections which nominate a BAGS MEETING due to take place on a DIFFERENT DAY without such a day being specified will be settled on the BAGS meeting taking place the day the bet was placed provided that track does not have an evening meeting scheduled for that day. Where two BAGS meetings are scheduled to take place, then the stake will be equally divided to cover each meeting individually. However, if the race times written correspond to only one meeting then the bet will stand for that one meeting.
Greyhound bets placed for MEETINGS (other than BAGS meetings) due to run on a DIFFERENT DAY must have the future date and day clearly stated on the slip. Where this is omitted and the timing of the selections can only apply to one meeting on the day the bet was placed, then the bet will stand for the races timed with the meeting nominated being disregarded. In all other instances the bet will be void.
Where TWO GREYHOUND MEETINGS are held at the SAME TRACK on the SAME DAY, then the particular meeting for which the bet is intended must be clearly indicated. Where it is not clearly indicated, and the staking does not indicate which meeting is intended, then the bet will be deemed to be for the first meeting at which all the selections are still to run
The term SINGLE BETS stated throughout this rule refers to a win or each way single, forecast single or a tricast single. In the case of tricasts, allowances must be made for whether the race is a tricast race.
|
| 5. FOREIGN RACING |
 |

Coupling does apply even if a show price is taken. It does not apply to Coral early prices or prices taken when Industry SP is in operation.

| 6. ANTE-POST |
 |
 |
Ante-Post bets are bets made at a quoted price which must be marked on the betting slip by one of our Staff.
Returns for win and place doubles, trebles etc., are calculated at accumulative odds i.e. in the same manner as for SP bets; for the place part of an each-way bet the fractional odds and number of places relating to each event are those pertaining at the time of acceptance. Reduced odds may apply in accumulative bets if the same selection is taken to win more than one event.
'Place Only', conditional or 'if cash' bets are not acceptable at ante-post odds.
A selection scratched from or not taking part in an ante-post event is a losing one if at the time that the bet was taken there was a possibility to win.
We reserve the right to correct any obvious or material errors and, in the event of incorrect odds being laid in error, bets will be settled at the odds which were correct at the time the bet was placed.
6.1 Horse Racing
An Ante Post horse racing bet is a bet accepted before the final declarations are known.
Unless advertised differently, the following rules apply:-
Where an event is postponed to another day and overnight declarations stand, then bets stand. If the original overnight declarations do not stand, bets will be void.
If the race is abandoned, declared void or if the conditions of the race are altered after bets are taken or if the horse selected is balloted out under the Jockey Club rule limiting the number of runners in the race, single ante-post bets will be void. Accumulative or combination ante-post bets will stand and are settled at the ante-post price(s) laid on the remaining selection(s), with the void selection counting as a non-runner throughout the bet.
In the event of horses being balloted out the liabilities against the horses remaining will be reduced at the rate announced in accordance with Tattersalls' Rule 4(c). If the venue of the race is altered bets will be settled in accordance with Tattersalls' ruling.
Ante-post bets placed before the entries have closed should stand and only be made void if the race is abandoned or made void, if the horse is balloted out/eliminated under Jockey Club Rule 125, or the venue is changed.
Bets on runners who are not in the list the list of entries after all entry stages are closed, are void.
6.2 Greyhounds
When prices are offered to win a competition, bets accepted before the draw for the penultimate round (semi-final) has been made will be on an 'all in run or not' basis, and non runners will be treated as losers.
Bets accepted at prices issued after the draw for the penultimate round (semi final) but prior to the draw for the final will not be subject to Ante-Post rules, and any non runner will be treated as void for settlement purposes. Tattersalls' Rule 4 (c) will apply to bets on the remaining greyhounds, with the amount of the deduction based on the price of the withdrawn greyhound at the time that the bet was struck. When a greyhound is withdrawn after the draw for the final is made all bets struck after the draw but prior to withdrawal at Coral prices will be settled at starting price, and bets on the withdrawn greyhound will be void.
|
| 7. FAVOURITES |
 |
 |
7.1
In any race, the favourite is the horse quoted in the official Starting Price return at the shortest odds; the second favourite is the horse quoted at the next shortest odds and so on. If two horses should be quoted at the same odds and if these odds should be shorter than those quoted against any other horse, then these two horses are the joint first and second favourites.
7.2
Subject to section 5 of this rule, where a customer uses the term 'Favourite',
'Second Favourite' or 'Third Favourite' to indicate the selection, the stake will be invested on the horse defined in the preceding section; if two or more horses are thus selected the stake will be divided and invested equally amongst each of the selected horses. However, if such joint favourites are returned at a price whereby, irrespective of result, no profit could accrue to a backer of the favourite, the unnamed favourite will be treated as a non-runner. This section and the one preceding will apply equally to greyhound racing.
7.3
Starting price bets for unnamed favourites, or additionally in the case of horse racing for unnamed second or third favourites, are acceptable win only. If each way is taken in error, the bet will be settled all up to win.
Bets for unnamed second or third favourites in Greyhound races are not acceptable and if taken in error will be void.
|
| 8. 'WIN & PLACE' BETTING AT STARTING PRICE |
 |
 |
8.1
Bets are acceptable win or each-way. 'Place Only' bets are not acceptable,
excepting certain speciality bets and at Tote odds when placed through Tote Direct . Where a place stake is in excess of the amount staked to win, the difference will be equally apportioned win and place to the selection(s).
8.2
The place part of a 'Win and Place' bet at Starting Price or displayed price is
settled in the following manner:
8.3
Horses and Greyhounds
In races of 5-7 runners we pay 1/4 of the win odds 1st and 2nd places.
In races of 8 or more runners we pay 1/5 of the win odds 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
In handicap races of 12-15 runners we pay 1/4 of the win odds 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
In handicap races of 16 or more runners we pay 1/4 of the win odds 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places.
Where there are less than five runners the place money goes on to win.
|
| 9. CONDITIONAL BETS |
 |
 |
9.1
When settling conditional bets the instruction 'If Lose' will be read as 'If lose or Non-Runner' and the instruction 'If Win' read as 'If Win or Non-Runner'. Subject to the selections being in different races, 'Stop at a Winner' bets are acceptable win or each-way and settled in the order written, a non-runner will not be counted as a winner and the bet will continue until one of the selections either occupies or dead heats for the first place.
9.2
Double Result Betting
Double Result concession is available in all shops and applies to UK and Irish races only. It applies to all single and multiple bets and there are no restrictions on stake.
Settlement is governed by the result given by the racecourse judge (as transmitted by the ‘Course Betting Service’) with the following exceptions:
• Ante Post Bets |
• Its jockey failed to weigh in |
• Forecasts & Tricasts |
• Any Tote or Pari-mutuel bets |
• Void Races |
• It was given in error by the judge |
• Selections taking the wrong course |
• ‘Betting without favourites’ markets |
| • Selections carrying the wrong weight |
• Daily challenge bets (jockey, meeting, tipster, challenge match bets) |
9.3
First Past the Post Betting
First Past the Post Betting is available on South African racing and other racing abroad that returns an SP which are not covered by the Double Result concession in 9.2 above.
FPP needs to be marked on the betting slip accordingly.
For the purpose of First Past the Post, the exclusions as listed above in 9.2 also apply.
9.4
“Any to Come” or “If Cash” bets
In deciding from which part of the bet the 'Any to Come' is to be taken or to which part the 'Any to Come' is to be applied, a drawn line will be read as indicating the end of one bet and the start of another.
The conditional part of an 'Any to Come' bet will be executed on the understanding that the total cash in hand at any stage will be applied to the settlement in the order of the remaining written instructions. Cash in hand from a selection cannot go on to that selection or a selection in the same race.
At any stage should there be insufficient cash in hand to execute in full the next part of the 'Any to Come' instruction, it will be settled proportionally.
In the conditional part of the 'Any to Come' bet, if the stake should be omitted the total amount staked on the preceding selection of series or instructions will be invested.
All ‘Any to Come’ or ‘If Cash’ bets exclude ante post selections.
|
| 10. LATE WITHDRAWALS AND RE-RUN RACES |

no deduction |
In the event of two or more horses being withdrawn before coming under starter's orders, the total deduction will be the sum of the individual deductions, up to a maximum of 90 pence in the £pound.
In the event of a race being re-run, all bets will stand for the re-run race, with bets being settled at the prices quoted or returned for the original race. Horses which came under starters orders in the original race will be considered losers if not taking part in the re-run race.
10.1
Horses - Early Morning Prices
The Tattersalls' Rule 4 (c) Deduction Scale will be applied to bet settlement when horses quoted in our Early Morning Prices are withdrawn before coming under starter's orders. In such circumstances, the appropriate level of deduction will be determined by reference to the prices on offer at the time that the bet was placed.
10.2
Greyhounds
When a greyhound is withdrawn:-
All bets struck at displayed prices prior to the withdrawal, and not cancelled by the customer, will be settled at starting price. In the event of a NO RACE being re-run, all bets for that race stand at starting price for the re-run race unless previously cancelled by the customer.
All bets struck prior to withdrawal at Coral prices on individual heats or one off races will be settled at starting price, and bets on the withdrawn greyhound will be void.
See Rule 6.2 for ante-post bets on a greyhound to win a competition.
10.3
Sports Betting
We reserve the right to apply a rule 4 deduction to outright bets on sporting events when a player, contestant or team is withdrawn from the betting after having been declared to play. For betting purposes we consider a player to have been declared to play if he is included in a first round draw (for sports like tennis, snooker and darts) or its equivalent in other sports.
|
| 11. WALKOVERS, CANCELLED AND POSTPONED RACES |
 |
 |
Walkovers, void and cancelled races count as races. Unless otherwise provided for in Section 6 concerning ante-post betting, any selection involved in a race that is postponed until a later date, or abandoned, will be treated as a non-runner.
Where a race is postponed and run later the same day, all bets placed prior to the announced postponement will stand for the rearranged times unless previously cancelled by the customer.
|
| 12. FORECASTS |
 |
 |
Subject to the following Rules, forecasts are acceptable in singles, doubles and trebles only. Accumulators are acceptable only as part of a forecast bet special package (For example Forecast Yankee) as advertised from this shop. If otherwise taken in error they are settled as trebles, with the stakes being equally divided.
If a single forecast should contain a non-runner this will be settled as a single. When three or more selections are made for a race in a bet involving straight forecasts, settlement is made as a full combination of those selections, unless each required forecast is written individually.
Unnamed FIRST favourites with a named selection racecard number or trap number are acceptable in forecast SINGLE bets. Any such selection included in forecast doubles, trebles and accumulators (or Tricasts) is void. Should the first favourite and the named selection or trap number be the same, the forecast is void. In the case of joint first favourites the bet will be settled proportionately and, if one of the joint favourites is the same as the named selection or trap number, then that part of the bet will be void.
12.1
Horses
Computer Straight Forecasts are acceptable only in races of three or more runners. However, should a bet be accepted in error on a 2 horse race, or a race be reduced to only 2 runners, then Computer Straight Forecast bets will stand, and be settled as a single, at Starting Price, on the horse named to finish first. Similarly, in Computer Straight Forecasts in which only one selection is made, or in races in which one horse finishes alone, bets will be settled as S.P. singles. If for some other reason no Computer Straight Forecast is declared, bets will be settled on the Tote Exacta Returns. If neither is returned, Forecast bets will be void for settlement purposes.
12.2
Greyhounds
Forecasts are acceptable only in races of 3 or more runners. However, should a bet be accepted in error on a 2 greyhound race, or a race be reduced to 2 runners, forecast bets will stand, and be settled as a single, at Starting Price, on the greyhound named to finish first.
Straight Forecasts are settled in accordance with Greyhound Computer Forecast returns. Dual Forecasts are acceptable only in trebles for any three races at Greyhound meetings not precluded by our Rules. The Dual Forecast dividend is calculated as ONE HALF of the Greyhound Computer Forecast, returned for each leg of the Treble. If due to abandonment, no-race, or a forecast being invalidated for any other reason, a Dual Forecast bet is reduced to less than a treble, it is settled on the races remaining in that treble.
In all circumstances where the Greyhound Computer Forecasts are not declared settlement will be based on the N.S.L. Straight Forecast Chart (Dual Forecast ONE HALF of the Chart return).
Forecasts specifying Tote returns, if taken in error, are settled at Computer Straight Forecast returns, or N.S.L. Straight Forecast returns where appropriate.
|
| 13. TRICASTS |
 |
 |
13.1
Greyhound racing - We accept Tricasts on all races where 6 or more runners actually run. Horse racing - We accept Tricast bets on all Handicap, Nursery and Rated Stakes Handicap races where 8 or more runners are declared and 6 or more actually run.
13.2
Tricasts, for selections to finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in correct order, are acceptable in races for which an official Tricast return is declared. Selections may be named, although race card numbers (horses) or trap numbers (greyhounds) will be taken, provided there can be only one interpretation of the required selections.
13.3
In the event of any ambiguity the Tricast will be declared void, as will any Tricast in which the same selection is repeated.
13.4
Tricasts are acceptable in SINGLES only. In the event of Tricast doubles
being taken in error, the total stakes for the doubles will be divided and
invested equally as Tricast singles for the selected races. A similar rule is
applied to Tricast trebles etc. Instructions for permutations must be specific,
otherwise the bet will be settled as a straight Tricast to the stake available.
‘Any to come’, or ‘if cash’ bets are not acceptable and, if accepted in error, the
A.T.C. or ‘if cash’ instructions will not be actioned.
13.5
A Tricast including an unnamed favourite selection is not acceptable, and will be declared void and stakes returned.
13.6
Tricasts will be settled in accordance with the official Tricast return.
13.7
A 10% Bonus is paid on winning Tricasts in Horse races more than 1m 1f.
13.8
Should selections for a tricast include one non-runner, the stake will be invested as a Computer Straight Forecast on the remaining two selections in the order written, (except for combination purposes), with the non-runner being discounted. For the purpose of settlement it should be noted that a permutation is a series of straight Tricasts. Should a Tricast include two non runners, the Tricast will be settled as a single.
13.9
If, for any reason, a Tricast is taken for a race for which an official Tricast
return is not declared, settlement will be made as follows:-
Where all three selections run, settlement will be made as a Computer Straight Forecast on the selections nominated to finish 1st and 2nd, with the selection for 3rd place being discounted.
For the purpose of combination bets the stake will be invested as a full cover Combination Forecast Bet.
Where the selections include non-runner(s), settlement will be made in accordance with section 13.8 of these Rules.
|
| 14. TOTE DIRECT BETTING |
 |
 |
We are authorised by the Horserace Totalisator Board to accept bets for settlement at Totalisator odds.
14.1
In most shops we have a Tote Direct system, which allows Tote Bets to be included into the on course pool. Any Tote bets processed through the Tote system are NOT subject to our Maximum Payments rules (Rule 3).
14.2
When selecting the Favourite for any Tote bet and the result is Joint or Co Favourite, the favourite with the lowest racecard number will apply for settlement.
14.3
Tote Scoop6
The Scoop6 operates on the six Tote nominated races on Saturdays. The nominated races will normally be shown live on TV and may be over one or more different race meetings. To win the Scoop6 ‘win dividend’, you must pick the winner of all six races, to win the ‘place dividend’ you must pick a placed horse in all six races. A bonus fund also operates for winners of the Scoop6 win dividend.
14.4
Tote Jackpot
The Jackpot operates on the first six consecutive races at the Jackpot meeting as nominated by the Tote. To win the Jackpot you must pick the winner of all six races.
14.5
Tote Placepot
The Placepot operates on the first six consecutive races at any UK meeting. To win the Placepot your selections must be successfully placed in each of the six races.
14.6
Tote Trifecta
Trifecta races are nominated by the Tote each day. To win the Trifecta you must select the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the correct order.
14.7
Tote Quadpot
The Quadpot operates on four consecutive races as decided by the Tote (usually the last four Placepot races of a Placepot meeting). To win the Quadpot you must have a selection placed in each race.
14.8
Tote Exacta
The Exacta is available on races of 3 or more runners. To win the Tote Exacta you must correctly select the winner and the second in the correct order.

Available for all races with 5 or more runners. To win you must pick a horse to be placed.
14.12
Tote Non-Runner
For Win, Each Way, Place only, Exacta and Trifecta bets which contain a non-runner, stakes will be void.
14.13
For Jackpot, Placepot, Quadpot and Scoop6 bets the SP favourite replaces the non-runner. Where there are Joint or Co favourites, the favourite with the lowest race card number will apply for settlement.
14.14
Tote Direct Connection Failure
In the event of a connection failure between any of our shops and the Tote Direct system, which results in a bet being accepted initially by Coral but not by Tote Direct for any reason, the following rules will apply:
i) Bets are accepted on Win, Place, Exacta, Trifecta, Coral Tote Placepot and Quadpots.
ii) We will not accept Scoop6 or Tote Jackpots outside the Tote Direct pool. If a Scoop6 is taken in error, and not fed into the Tote Direct pool it will be settled as an each way accumulator at starting price odds. A Tote Jackpot taken outside the pool will be settled as a win accumulator at starting price odds.
iii) ‘Tote’ must be clearly marked to enable settlement to be made at these
odds.
If ‘tote’ is not written, bets will be settled at Starting Price unless otherwise
indicated in our Rules.
iv) Bets at Tote odds are not acceptable for unnamed favourites, meetings
where race by race results are not transmitted to our shops, greyhound
racing, Irish Racing or for our speciality bets i.e. Lucky 15/31/63. If taken,
settlement of such bets will be made at Starting Price in accordance with
our Rules.
|
| 15. DAILY SPECIAL BETS |
 |
 |
Daily Special Bets selections may be combined in a multiple bet. However, if the selections involve races at the same meeting (where contingencies are related) a combined price which reflects the relativity will be applied for settlement, regardless of any individual prices marked on the betting slip.
15.1
Meeting Challenge
When we offer the opportunity to bet on which meeting will have the most winning favourites, the following Rules apply: -
In the event of joint or co-favourites, the favourite with the lowest racecard number will count (similar to the Tote treatment of unnamed favourites in Placepots).
(a) A withdrawn favourite (if no new book is formed) counts as a losing favourite.
(b) If fewer than 3 races are completed at either meeting, all bets will be void. (c) Void races do not affect the result of a meeting challenge, unless Rule (c) applies.
(d) A favourite which dead-heats for first place counts as a winning favourite.
(e) In the event of no starting price being returned the horse with the lowest
price in the Racing Post betting forecast will count as favourite.
(f) Walkovers will be ignored for meeting challenge purposes.
(g) For Greyhounds, where a meeting has B.A.G.S coverage, it will be the results from this coverage only that will count for settlement purposes.
15.2
Jockey Challenge
When we offer the opportunity to bet on which jockey will ride the most winners at a meeting, the following Rules will apply:-
(a) The result of a jockey challenge is determined by a jockey's actual rides.
(b) If either jockey in a jockey challenge does not ride in at least 1 race, all
bets will be void.
(c) If a meeting is abandoned all bets will be void, unless at least half the races have already been run and both jockeys have ridden.
(d) A jockey's mount which dead-heats for first place counts as a complete
winner for challenge purposes.
(e) A jockey's mount which 'walks over' counts as a winning ride.
15.3
Trap Challenge
When we offer the opportunity to bet on which trap will provide the most winners, the following Rules will apply:-
(a) Bets are acceptable win only.
(b) The dead heat rule applies to all bets where trap winners are equal. However, dead-heats in individual races will be treated as winners.
(c) The result will stand irrespective of any void races or abandoned meetings.
(d) Where a B.A.G.S./B.E.G.S/B.S.G.S. challenge is offered it will be the results from this coverage only that will count for settlement purposes e.g. 10 races covered on SIS under the BEGS flag will only count and not the one run later on the card.
15.4
Special Multiples
When we offer Special Multiples i.e. doubles and trebles, the following Rules will apply:-
(a) If any of the named horses do not run, all bets will be settled at Starting Price on the remaining selections.
(b) Multiples are not available each way. Total stakes for any each way stakes accepted in error will be invested on the special multiple at the stated price.
(c) In the event of non runners in races included in special doubles or trebles,
Tattersalls' Rule 4 (c) may apply, with deductions based upon prices at the
time of withdrawal.
15.5
Winning Distance
When we offer the opportunity to bet on winning distances at a meeting, the following Rules will apply:-
(a) Bets are placed on the aggregate of the winning distances on any one race meeting.
(b) Winning distances equate to the following numerical values:-
Short Head = 0.1
Head = 0.2
Neck = 0.3
Quarter length = 0.25
Three quarter lengths = 0.75
A distance is defined as 30 lengths.
Maximum distance for any one race is 12 lengths for a Flat race meeting and 30 lengths for a National Hunt meeting (including National Hunt Flat races).
All distances bets will be settled on the original distance recorded by the winner first past the post. The only exception is where a horse has taken the wrong course. If a horse has taken the wrong course it will be ignored for distance betting and the distance will be calculated as the distance between the first two runners past the post who have taken the correct course
All bets on a particular meeting will be void if all races on that card are not completed, unless the result at the time of the void race is ‘over’, in which case all bets will stand.
In the event of a walkover the following distances will apply:
-National Hunt races (including NH flat races) – 12 lengths
-Flat races - 5 lengths
For all Daily Special Bets, Coral Retail Betting Rules apply to all circumstances not covered by the above Rules.
15.6
Tipster Challenge
When we offer the opportunity to bet on which Tipster will predict the most winners at a specified meeting the following rules will apply: -
(a) At least one different selection of each Tipster must run for all bets to stand
(b) A withdrawn selection counts as a losing selection
(c) A selection which dead heats for first place will count as a winning
selection.
(d) Void races do not affect the result of the tipster challenge, unless rule (a)
applies.
15.7
Match Betting
(a) Where we offer match bets between two horses in the same race both horses must come under starter’s orders, or all bets are void.
(b) If only one of the horses completes the course then that horse is deemed
the winner, if neither horse completes the course then bets are void.
(c) It is not possible to combine a bet on a horse to win a race with a match bet involving the same horse.
(d) All match bets are settled on a first past the post basis with the exception of horses taking the wrong course. Where one horse has taken the wrong course and the other has taken the correct course, the runner taking the correct course will be deemed to have won the match bet, irrespective of the order they cross the finish line. If both horses take the wrong course, the match bet will be deemed void and stakes returned.
(e) Prices are available up until the first show as broadcast by the course betting service.

|
| 24. FOOTBALL |
 |
 |
Coral Retail Betting Rules apply to all circumstances not covered by the following rules, in addition any instructions printed on the coupon or issued by means of a press announcement or by way of a notice displayed in this shop are to be read as being part of these rules.
UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, ALL FOOTBALL BETS ARE SETTLED ON 90 MINUTES PLAY
24.1
General
All football bets will be settled on 90 minutes play. This includes time added by the referee in respect of injuries and other stoppages. Extra Time and Penalty Shoot Outs do not count. However, in some instances we may offer prices such as ‘To Win Outright’, ‘To Win in Extra Time’ etc in which case this rule does not apply.
Settlement of Football bets will be based on the results as determined by the Press Association’s initial decision. Where the Press Association do not cover a match, settlement will be based on the results as determined by any other such official bodies as Coral determine.
Any selection(s) involved in matches which have already kicked off will be deemed void, unless they are placed within 15 minutes of KO and no goals have been scored, penalties awarded or players removed from the field. This does not apply if we are offering betting in play or offering updated betting at half time.
If a match is abandoned before the end of the second half all bets on markets that are not already determined on that game are void. This applies notwithstanding the fact the governing body may deem the result of the shortened match to stand for competition purposes (i.e. FIFA award a 2-0 victory to one of the teams).
- Any Selection(s) which are involved in matches which are postponed, abandoned (where the game has not started), or re-arranged will be deemed void unless played between Friday and Monday (inclusive) of that week for weekend matches, or played not later than Friday of that week for midweek matches.
- Selections which are involved in matches where there is a change made to their scheduled opponent, or if the venue is changed (either reversed so the Home team plays Away; or changed to a neutral venue) will be deemed void.
24.2
Related Contingencies
A bet is deemed to be related if either:
- The same selection is chosen to win two or more different events and is combined in an Accumulator or other Multiple bet.
For Example:
£1 Double - Arsenal to win the Premiership and the FA Cup
OR
- The outcome of one part of the bet increases the probability of success of another part of the bet.
For Example:
£1 Double - Arsenal to win 2-1 and Van Persie to score first
The cumulative odds for bets such as these if quoted in error will not count. Instead your bet will be settled at the special ‘related’ odds (if, they were on offer at the time) or, your stakes will be equally divided where any selections clash which are deemed related.
24.3
Settlement on Easyslip, Coupons and Standard Betting Slips will be at the price prevailing at the time the bet is placed. This will govern settlement irrespective of the pre-printed odds shown on the coupons.
Where a football bet has been placed via an Easyslip, any mark in the home column will be interpreted as a home win, the draw column a draw and away column an away win.
24.4
Where a team is scheduled to play two or more matches in the same week, bets on standard betting slips which do not nominate the date of the match will be settled for the match in which the selection plays first.
24.5
Selections claimed to be for mythical football matches (matches where the goals each team scores in their actual fixture are used to determine the result of an imaginary match) that are written on standard betting slips and do not contain clear instructions or a qualifying price will be settled on the team’s actual fixture.
24.6
Any bets placed on standard betting slips will not qualify for the bonuses or consolation offered on special / section lists.
On standard betting slips where a customer has nominated a team to beat a different opponent to that scheduled, with the exception of mythical matches, the bet will stand for the selection’s scheduled match. Where a draw has been nominated with no qualifying price laid, the selection will be void and the bet settled on the remaining selections.
24.7
Where there is more than one competitor with the same surname and the selection has not been identified by either first name, team where applicable, or qualifying price the competitor with the lowest advertised price will be taken as the selection. In the event of one or more competitor(s) being quoted at the lowest advertised price the stake will be divided between them. The same principle will apply where two teams have the same name.
24.8
The minimum odds/returns printed at the head of each coupon list are for guidance purposes only and settlement will always be at the current individual match odds quoted for each game. Dates and kick-off times of matches printed on our coupon are for guidance purposes only.
24.9 Incomplete lines on the sections list of our coupon will stand and settlement will be based on the individual odds quoted for each selection.
24.10 In the event of a match being played on a neutral ground the team printed on the left will be regarded as the home side, and the team printed on the right as the away side
24.11 Should there be any doubt as to whether a bet is intended for first goalscorer / last goalscorer, or to score at any time in all cases it will be settled on the ‘first goalscorer’.
24.12 Where the name of the winning team has been omitted from a scorecast bet, with no qualifying price laid, in all cases correct scores will stand for the selected first goalscorer's team.
Example: A win double Ronaldo / 3-2, will be settled on Ronaldo to score the first goal and Man Utd to win the match 3-2.
24.13 All football bets must carry full staking instructions. If you omit to stake any column then this column will be void unless provision has been made within the total amount of stake paid. For settling purposes permutations will be treated as one column.
24.14 Permutations must be accompanied by clear instructions and any number of selections in bets without specific instructions will be settled as an accumulator, subject to any maximum/minimum requirements
In permutation bets using bankers, all bankers must be clearly indicated.
24.15 Where your instructions are for an in-running market that is not available and there can be no doubt as to the in-running market on which the price you have taken was offered when the bet was accepted, the bet will be settled for that market, irrespective of the market you have written on your slip.
|
| 25.
BETTING IN PLAY |
 |
 |
For selected games we offer 1X2 and various other markets during the match. On occasion we will introduce a handicap to one of the teams
Example:
Manchester United (-1 goal) v Liverpool
- A bet on Manchester United will be successful only if they win by 2 goals or more
- A bet on Liverpool will be successful if they win or draw the game
- A bet on the tie or draw will be successful if Manchester United win by 1 goal
25.1
Player to score the next goal
When Betting in Play we offer a price on the Player to score the next goal (1st/ 2nd and 3rd goal etc.) This market is settled on a no goal – no bet basis. In other words, if a game stands at 1-1 after 60 minutes and we offer betting on ‘which player will score the 3rd goal?’ all stakes on the player to score the 3rd goal will be refunded if the game remains 1-1.
For Betting in Play purposes, please note that we quote a price for ‘own goal’ (unlike betting before the match where own goals are not counted in the player to score markets). Therefore, if the next goal to be scored is given as an own goal, this will be settled as a winner and betting will move to the next goal to be scored.
25.2
Periodic Free Kick, corner and Throw-in Betting
Periodic segment betting (normally 10-minute windows) on the number of free kicks, corners and throw-ins is offered on selected matches. 40 mins to 49.59 mins includes any stoppage/injury time added at the end of the first half. 80 mins to 90 mins includes any stoppage/injury time added at the end of the second half.
For settlement purposes a penalty is not classed as a free kick and the actual free kick, corner or throw has to have taken place to be counted in the total. Simply being awarded will not count for settlement purposes.
Singles only are accepted on these markets.
|
| 26. PROBLEMS WITH BET INSTRUCTIONS |
 |
 |
26.1
We will only accept bets on matches and markets for which we quote prices. Any bet taken in error for a match, tournament or market for which no prices are available will be deemed void.
In the event that any selections are unclear or illegible then those selections will be deemed void.
26.2
Unless otherwise specified, all bets which state a particular team to win will be settled on the 90 minute result of the next match they play.
26.3
From time to time we may offer betting on the ‘outright result’, ‘to Win in Extra Time’ etc. If a customer wishes to place such a bet this should be stated clearly on their slip when the bet is placed. Likewise if a customer wishes to place an Ante-Post bet they must clearly state ‘To win the Premiership / Division One etc’ otherwise the bet will be settled on the next match which that particular team play.
26.4
Coupon Settlement
Settlement of incorrectly staked bets or incorrect instructions will be made in accordance with Coral Retail Betting Rules.
26.5
Sections/Mini Sections List
All bets will be settled as accumulative wagers regardless of the amount of selections chosen from each section.
26.
Half Time Betting
The Half Time coupon allows customers the opportunity to place bets on the half time result of selected matches.
Singles and upwards available.
Bets will be settled on the ‘home win’, ‘away win’ or ‘draw’ result at Half Time.
If a customer places a bet on the Half Time result of a match which is not featured on the coupon and no Half Time prices were available then the bet will be deemed void.
|
| 27. FIRST PLAYER TO SCORE |
 |
 |
Singles and upwards available.
Own goals do not count, therefore any match where the only goal(s) scored is an own goal will be settled as no Goalscorer as far as first player to score bets are concerned This is with the exception of in-play betting - see Rule 25.1
First Player to Score bets will be deemed void if the selected player does not take part, or takes the field as a substitute after the first goal has been scored.
If a match commences but is subsequently abandoned before full time First Player to Score bets will stand provided a goal has been scored.
|
| 28. LAST PLAYER TO SCORE
|
 |
 |
Singles and upwards available.
A player will be deemed to have been a participant in Last Player to Score bets if he plays any part in the match.
Own goals do not count, therefore any match where the only goal(s) scored is an own goal, bets will be settled as no Goalscorer as far as last player to score bets are concerned.
Last Player to Score Bets are void if a match is abandoned before full-time.
|
| 29. SCORE AT ANY TIME |
 |
 |
Bets are accepted for a player to score at any time during the match, (however extra time does not count).
Singles and upwards available.
A player will be deemed to have been a participant in Any Time Goalscorer bets if he plays any part in the match.
We will only pay out once on an individual player regardless of the amount of goals he may score in a given match.
Own goals do not count for ‘Score At Any Time’ purposes.
If a match commences but is subsequently abandoned prior to full time and no goals have been scored then all Score at Any Time selections will be deemed void. However, if one or more goals have been scored prior to abandonment then Score at Any Time bets will stand on those who have scored or been substituted. Others will be void.
|
| 30. SCORECAST |
 |
 |
For Scorecast bets, you must nominate the player to score the first goal and the correct score in the match (extra time does not count). For example:
England to win 1-0 and W. Rooney to score the first goal.
Scorecasts are available on all matches where Correct Score and First Player to Score prices are quoted. Singles and upwards available.
If a player comes on after a goal has been scored or does not take part in the match, bets will revert to a single on the correct score, because the player is a NR in the 1st goal market.
Own goals do not count for First Goalscorer purposes therefore Scorecast bets will be settled on the next Goalscorer and the Correct Score of the game. If the correct score is 1-0 and the goal is an own goal, all Scorecast bets are settled as a losers, as ‘no goalscorer’ is the winner in the 1st goal market.
If a match commences but is subsequently abandoned prior to full time and a goal has been scored, then Scorecast bets will be settled as First Player to Score Singles because the correct score market is void. If no goal has been scored then all Scorecast bets will be deemed void because both the 1st goalscorer and the correct score markets are void.
|
| 31. CORRECT SCORE |
 |
 |
For Correct Score bets, you must nominate the correct score at the end of 90 minutes play.
Correct Score betting is available on all matches where 90-minute prices are quoted.
Own goals count for Correct Score betting purposes.
If a match commences but is subsequently abandoned prior to full time then Correct Score bets will be deemed void.
|
| 32. HALF TIME / FULL TIME (OR DOUBLE RESULT BETTING) |
 |
 |
For Half Time / Full Time betting you must simply nominate the result at Half Time and at Full time.
Unless otherwise stated Half Time / Full Time betting is available on all matches where 90 minute prices are quoted.
If a match commences but is subsequently abandoned prior to full time, Half Time / Full Time bets will be deemed void regardless of the time of the abandonment.
|
| 33. MATCH STATS |
 |
 |
Match Stats offer customers the opportunity to place bets on the various stats within the match i.e. the number of goals or bookings for a given match.
Match Stats are available for selected games only.
Own goals count for Match Stats purposes.
If a match commences but is subsequently abandoned prior to full time, bets on any markets for which the result is already established will stand, while all others will be deemed void.
|
| 34. ANTE-POST BETTING |
 |
 |
Any Ante-Post bet which is taken either without a price or an incorrect price will stand, but only at the price available at the time the bet was struck.
For the settlement of Ante-Post bets, final League placings count (i.e. divisional playoffs are excluded). The only exception to this rule is where promotion and relegation markets are offered.
|
| 35. AMERICAN FOOTBALL |
 |
 |
The score at the end of play, including overtime if played, will be taken as the final result, with the exception of Quarter and First Half lines as these do not include overtime.
When handicap betting is available, if the match finishes as a tie, stakes will be returned
The Home Team is always listed second unless otherwise stated.
At least 55 minutes of play must elapse for bets to stand, unless otherwise specified.
Overtime counts for all bets unless otherwise specified.
Abandoned or postponed matches are void unless rearranged and played in the same 'American Football week' (Monday - Monday Pacific time), except for those bets that have already been determined at the time of abandonment or postponement.
If a team is designated to play at home and the game is moved to a venue outside of the state where they reside, bets will be made void.
All results as per the official governing bodies – the official Game Book provided at www.nfl.com, at www.ncaa.org, at www.nfleurope.com, at www.cfl.ca and at www.arenafootball.com.
35.1 Money Lines.
Both teams are priced to win the full game with no handicaps applied. When betting on the money line your team must win the game on the field in order for you to win the bet. For settlement purposes overtime counts. If the game remains tied after overtime, dead heat rules apply.
35.2 Point Spread.
A point spread bet is a bet on a team to win the game with handicaps applied. To even the match for betting purposes, the favourite gives the ‘underdog’ x points start. A favourite is indicated by a minus points handicap and the underdog by plus points. At the end of the match, the relevant handicap is added to, or subtracted from the selected teams’ score to determine the point spread result. In the event of a tie on the handicap all stakes on this market are returned. For settlement purposes overtime counts.
35.3 Game Totals.
A total line is offered on the predicted total number of points scored. Prices are offered for the actual score to be over or under this quote. The total result is the combined total points for both teams at the end of the relevant period of play. When the combined scores of both teams equals the totals line then the stakes are returned.
35.4 Game Wagers.
At least 55-minutes of play must elapse for game bets to stand.
35.5 Quarter/1st Half Lines.

For settlement purposes the 2nd half lines include overtime. At least 25 minutes of play must elapse in the second half for bets to stand.

For the purposes of highest scoring quarter betting, overtime does not count as part of the fourth quarter.
35.8 First Touchdown.
Bets on players to score the first touchdown will only be considered void (non runners) where the player was not in uniform for the match. Otherwise, bets are on the basis of all in, play or not. Bets on the first touchdown will stand as soon as a touchdown is scored, irrespective of any subsequent abandonment of the game.
35.9 Ante-post (season betting).
If the regular NFC / AFC season is not completed, all bets on the Superbowl, Conference winners and eight divisions will be void.
|
| 36. ATHLETICS |
 |
 |
For settlement purposes, the podium position or medal ceremony will count as the official result.
|
| 37. BOXING |
 |
 |
In the event of a postponed fight, all bets will stand for 30 days. In every fight, a price is quoted for the drawn fight. In the event of a drawn fight, all bets on either boxer to win will be losers.
The decision given by the referee at the end of a match will stand for settlement purposes. Any subsequent changes will not be taken into consideration.
37.1
Round Betting
If either fighter fails to answer the bell, his opponent will be deemed to have won in the previous round. If for any reason a points decision is awarded before the full number of rounds is completed, bets will be settled on the round in which the fight was stopped. Bets on boxers to win on points will be deemed winners only after all the scheduled rounds of the fight have been completed.

If the competition rules allow the final result to be a tied match, and a tie occurs and we were not offering a tie price, we will settle as a dead-heat. If, however, the competition rules require a bowl-out to decide the outcome of the match following a tie in normal play, the result of the bowl-out will be used for match bet settling purposes.
38.2
Other matches
If a match is abandoned due to outside interference, all bets will be made void. Bets will also be void in a weather affected match where at least one ball has not been bowled.
38.3
Test Matches
The draw is paid when no result is achieved at the end of 5-days scheduled play. If the teams finish the match (final innings all out or declared) tied on the same total before the scheduled end of play on the fifth day, the draw will be deemed a loser and match bets will be settled as a dead-heat between the two teams.
38.4
Top Batsman Betting - Matches
Bets on Top Batsman refer to the runs made in the first innings only. Bets will be void on any player not in the starting 11. Side Betting
If a game is “called”, or suspended, winners and losers for betting are official after at least 5 innings of play unless the home team is leading after 4½ innings. If a game is “called” or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning (unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called.) Stakes will be refunded if the home team ties the game and it is then suspended. All games must start on the scheduled date for bets to stand. | 48. LOTTO - GENERAL RULES |
 |
 |
Numbers bets (bar Fixed Odds Terminals) may be placed on plain slips.
Numbers bets (bar Virtual Racing) placed on non-numbers specific speciality slips will not qualify for any consolations or bonuses.
Understaked bets will be proportionately settled.
Numbers bets on any slip where multiple draws are specified will be settled on the next consecutive draws i.e. if 4 draws are chosen, numbers will count for the next 4 consecutive draws to take place after the bet has been accepted, unless otherwise specified on the slip by the customer. Where no bet instructions are present on the slip, any numbers bet will be settled as an accumulator on the numbers indicated on the next numbers draw for the specified lottery or 49’s product. If more than five numbers are selected the bet will be settled as a permed five fold with the total stake proportionately divided.
Where there is any doubt as to whether a Rapido, ‘49's’ or Lotto draw is intended the bet will be settled on the first of these events to take place after the bet has been accepted.
49’s, Lotto and Rapido cannot be combined with any other betting event nor may 2 or more draws be combined in an accumulative bet. Where an accumulative bet is taken the stake will be divided equally between the selections and settled as individual bets.
Illegible or ineligible figures will be treated as void, with the bet reduced accordingly. Odds will apply for the valid numbers only, for example, if a bet on the ‘3 numbers correct’ section comprises two numbers and a void number, this will be settled on the odds applicable to the ‘2 numbers correct’ section. Should a bet contain the same number more than once, then each ‘repeated’ number shall be treated as ‘void’, with the bet odds reduced accordingly
Bets on lotteries are accepted up to 15 minutes prior to the Main draw `being made, i.e. 7.45pmfor an 8.00pm draw. For 49’s, Rapido and Virtual Racing bets are accepted up to the official start time as broadcast by SIS Any bet accepted after this time will be void unless we are satisfied that the bet was placed before the draw started.

| 56. GAMING MACHINES - GENERAL |
 |
 |
The maximum payout to any one customer or group/syndicate of customers, including bets from the same source is £10,000 on any terminal on any day. Groups/syndicates of customers include associations or groups of individuals acting in concert, request, or recommendation from a third party. The maximum payout on any single event is £500.
- Once betting selections are made, pressing the ‘Bet / Start’ button on the terminal determines that the bet will be placed on the next random draw generated by the system’s central server.
- Should a draw, for whatever reason, not take place, then bets will stand on the next randomly generated draw. If the central server is unable, for whatever reason, to provide another draw, then the bet will be cancelled. Should this occur, the customer will be advised as such, and the customer’s balance retained at its previous level.
- In the event of a machine failure, the customer should immediately make Coral staff aware so as to enable the validation of any claim via the shop’s ‘Back Office PC’. Coral are not responsible for any malfunctions in either the content or the transmission of the data, which enables the events to take place. This includes any attempt from an external source to either defraud or otherwise interfere with the transmission of the event.
- Payment will only be made to customers against balance amounts validated by the ‘Back Office PC’ at the originating branch. Coral cannot accept liability for claims not validated in this manner. The ‘Back Office PC’ communicates with the system’s central server and holds transmission logs for all machines in the shop at the originating branch. The central server is operated by an independent company from a remote site. ‘Back Office PC’ data will be considered as the only true record of any bets made, winnings due or outstanding balances.
- Individual rules are available within each event available on the betting terminals. These apply to any situations not covered by these rules.
Should Coral have evidence of fraud or malpractice resulting from a payment claim, then Coral reserve the option to withhold payment until such time as an enquiry is completed. A decision on payment will then be made in accordance with the findings of said investigation.

| 5. PAYMENT OF WINNINGS
|
 |
 |
Winnings will be paid in cash or cheque but if the bet was placed by debit card the returns will be paid directly back on to your debit card. For security reasons, large amounts of cash are not held at Coral Shops therefore, there may be occasions, particularly in the case of a large win, when a cheque will be offered by us in respect of full, or part payment. Alternatively, we can arrange payment in cash at a later time or at another branch or, at our bank.
On occasions it may be necessary for us to verify the validity of a bet prior to payment. In such cases, every effort will be made to release payment as soon as possible.
Winnings may be collected at other Coral shops provided the paying shop is able to confirm by telephone the bet details with the originating shop. On occasions, it may be necessary for the bet to be collected only at the shop where it was placed for example for FOBT or Coral Plus.
Where a bet has been placed using a building society cheque or a banker’s draft, payment will only be made subject to clearance of the cheque/bankers draft being received by Coral.
Where we are asked to pay winnings by cheque to Customers who are not known to the staff at the relevant Coral shop, we will ask Customers to provide evidence of identity to confirm that the person receiving the cheque is the person to whom the cheque is made out to.
|
| 6.
LOST RECEIPT CLAIMS
|
 |
 |
Payment is only made on presentation of the official original receipt. Where this has been lost you must complete a Lost Receipt Claim Form and payment will be released provided we are satisfied with the bona fides of your claim and you agree to indemnify Coral in the event of a further claim on the bet. |
| 7.
VALID BETS AND WAGERS
|
 |
 |
Bets are placed with Coral by writing instructions on a betting slip or completing an Easy slip. An Easy slip is similar to the marksense slip used by the National Lottery/Lotto and requires you to indicate your stake, selections and bet type by marking a horizontal tick in the appropriate rectangular box. You must then hand the slip, together with the full stake, to a member of our counter staff who will be using our EPoS system. We will process your bet through a scanner and you will receive a printed receipt which has a unique bet number and shows a photo image of your bet (or printed details of your bet in case of Easyslip or where a ‘callover’ facility is available). For your bet to be valid, the bet number and image or printed bet details must be registered on our EPoS system and be printed on your receipt.
No bet is valid until we have provided you with a receipt showing that the bet has been accepted by us. We (Coral) reserve the right to refuse to accept the whole, or any part of any bet
Retail, postal bets or bets put through letterboxes are not accepted
In the event of any difference between the original slip presented by the Customer and the Customer receipt, the selections as they appear on the image of the Customer receipt captured by our EPoS system will determine settlement. It is the responsibility of the Customer to check the receipt carefully as mistakes cannot be rectified after the event
It is your responsibility to ensure your bets are written clearly and also that your timing, instructions, spelling and stakes are correct. You should check your receipt to verify that the amount you have paid and your bet details have been correctly recorded. Bets can only be cancelled or changed by mutual consent. You must retain your receipt until all bets on your slip can be fully settled, when any returns due will be paid upon the surrender of your receipt
We reserve the right to refuse the whole or any part of a bet offered to us, void any accepted bets and withhold settlement if we have reason to believe:
- You are under 18 years of age;
- You are involved in fraud, money laundering, collusion, match rigging or cheating of any kind; or
- a bet may breach the governing rules of the relevant sport or event in question or jeopardise the integrity of the sport or event in question. or
- a bet is mistakenly accepted for an event that has already occurred or there is a clear indication of the likely outcome.
There may be other instances where we may void a bet as shown in Italics under the specific sport/event included in the General Rules.
We also reserve the right to void a bet if required to do so by the Gambling Commission.
Where we have taken the steps to void a bet or wager for one of the above reasons, your actions leading to that shall be considered a breach of these Terms and Conditions and entitle us to terminate our relationship with immediate effect. In such circumstances we may use the monies we hold in your account in order to settle any liabilities we may incur as a result of your actions.
Gambling is a fast moving environment, odds move rapidly and bets are taken continuously and consequently mistakes do occasions occur. We do all that we can to avoid this but we cannot accept responsibility for any obvious errors or omissions in respect of the announcing, publishing or marking of prices, place terms, handicaps, runners or results despite our every effort to ensure total accuracy. If a bet is accepted in error by us at a price or market condition, as indicated above, that is:
- Materially different from those available in the general market at the time the bet was made; or
- So obviously incorrect given the relative probability of the event occurring at the time the bet was made; or
- So obviously incorrect having regard to the nature of the betting business,
then we will not pay winnings higher than those that would be paid under the price available in the general market and we will either settle the bet at the correct price or on terms available with us or, on condition that you can provide us with verification, at the best price or on the best terms available with any of the following companies at the time the bet was struck: Ladbrokes, William Hill, Totesport or Betfred. |
| 8.
CLAIMING OF BETS
|
 |
 |
You have thirteen weeks from the date of the event to claim any winning bets. If any claims are made after this date we will do our utmost to trace the bet but cannot guarantee that any payment will be made.
|
| 9. COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTES
|
 |
 |
In this section of our Terms and Conditions a "complaint" means a complaint about any aspect of our conduct in relation to your dealings with us and a "dispute" means any complaint which is not resolved through the Complaints Procedure and which relates to the outcome of a gambling transaction. All disputes are dealt with under our Dispute Resolution Policy. Complaints will not be heard by us if they are not raised with the Customer Services within 12 weeks of the event which the bet related to occurring.
In relation to all complaints or disputes, we reserve the right to record all telephone and e-mail communications with you and any other person.
