DATA WAREHOUSE DEVELOPMENT LEADER

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Gala Coral Group is Europe’s largest integrated betting and gaming company, employing around 17,000 employees.  As well as over 1,500 betting offices, bingo clubs and casinos, we have a significant online presence in the UK and throughout Europe.

Due to substantial growth in our online offer, the E-Commerce Division currently has excellent opportunities for a Data Warehouse Development Leader.   Responsibilities include:

• Development, maintenance and support of new functionalities for the company’s data warehouse;
• Analysis of business and user requirements and production of functional specifications;
• Project implementation from inception through development and support;
• Testing and deployment of data warehouse functionality; 
• Resolving problems on specific platforms;
• Team management

THE CANDIDATE:

With an IT or Scientific academic background you will have a relevant experience in an IT data warehouse design and software development. You will have experience of all stages of the development lifecycle (specification, development, testing and implementation), and managed a small team of software engineers
You will be capable of leading projects with a ‘hands on’ attitude, from inception to delivery, and you will liaise with all the projects stakeholders and the other department users creating the relevant software that will satisfy their requirement
You’ll manage the team performance and the day-to-day activities helping them to be highly productive.
Technologies used will include Oracle 9i  (and above), SQL and PL/SQL (triggers, stored procedures) and Unix shell scripting. An exposure to PHP 4 and 5, XML, will be seen as an advantage. Your technical skills will include data analysis, data mapping, data cleansing, and data loading. You will have experience in both building ad hoc reporting tools and using commercial products like Business Objects (Crystal Reports), Cognos and Actuate

In your position you will report and be accountable to the Systems Development Manager for the development deliverables of your team.
