SENIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Gala Coral Group currently has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Network Administrator in our E-Commerce Division, to manage the implementation, testing and documentation of the network environment. Technically you will be well versed in Cisco products and monitoring systems and have experience of managed services/Web hosting environments.  You will be a hard-working senior member of a dynamic Systems Support team and need to be a real team player, who has the ability to fit in with other staff well.

The ideal candidate will be able to troubleshoot in a logical manner and will be pro-active in their work, being able to spot potential problems and react as necessary, they will display strong team skills and be able to communicate to a wide range of people.  You will ideally also be experienced with architecture design (within all networking areas) and have extremely solid documentation skills.  The role will primarily involve supporting the infrastructure around multiple large websites, understanding of Internet routing, websites, html, network exploits, network attack mitigation, IPS, IDS, load balancing, F5 Big IP, Cisco LD and TCP/IP communication.

Skills/Experience should include:

  • CCNP Qualified.
  • Router and switch security, network design security, DDOS experience.
  • Network addressing, experience dealing with large ISPs and contracts.
  • Capacity planning, Disaster Recovery planning, Project management/cost analysis.
  • Ability to work within a complex and dynamically environment.
  • Working with other teams to deploy, move and upgrade network equipment while maintaining full uptime.
  • Support Routing and switching infrastructure. Experience with Fibre and copper implementations.
  • Layer 3 switching, VLAN trunking, ether channel, VLANs, VOIP, QOS, LAN Routing, EIGRP.
  • User access and logging, integration with AD, Checkpoint NG, TACAS, RADIUS, remote access solutions, sys-log.

THE CANDIDATE:

You will be CCNP qualified and have considerable experience in network support & implementation in a 24x7 mission critical secure environment, with a background in infrastructure support (server and network background).  An understanding of CNS, DHCP, WINS, NetBIOS, TCPIP, server fault tolerance, load balancing, backup infrastructure design and Active Directory would be an advantage.  Ideally, you will have experience managing large network infrastructures, including monitoring and troubleshooting, as well as having some experience of understanding and organising a fast changing environment.   The role involves management of a small team and therefore requires good management and interpersonal skills.

The department is covered 7 days a week, 24 hours a day (night shift is covered on an ‘on-call basis’). The position is full-time and as it involves working shift-based hours, including weekends and bank holidays the position would be better suited to candidates who live within a short commuting distance of the office.  In return, we offer a competitive salary and package in an exciting growth industry.
