ANALYST PROGRAMMER

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Gala Coral Group is Europe’s largest integrated betting and gaming company, employing around 17,000 employees. As well as over 1,500 betting offices, bingo clubs and casinos, we have a significant online presence in the UK and throughout Europe.

Due to substantial growth in our online offer, the E-Commerce Division currently has an excellent opportunity for an Analyst Programmer.
Responsibilities include:

Development, maintenance and support of new functionalities
Analysis of business and user requirements and production of functional specifications;
Project implementation from inception through development and support;
Testing of back-office functionality;

Resolving problems on specific platforms.

THE CANDIDATE:

With an IT or Scientific academic background and one years experience in an IT Development environment the successful candidate will have experience of all stages of the development lifecycle (specification, development, testing and implementation). Qualifications will include Visual Basic 6 and Visual Basic.NET (experience on application porting between VB6 and VB.NET is an advantage), XML and it would be desirable to have Oracle 8i or other RDBMS, SQL and PL/SQL (triggers, stored procedures) and Web scripting exposure (PHP, ASP, JSP).

Able to work well within a team the candidate will have good technical skills, good communications skills and the ability to provide appropriate technical solutions to business related problems. Betting industry experience would be a definite advantage.

An interest in Sports / Gaming would be an advantage.
